"Jcruz..." She read aloud, as she scrolled through the mystery gift giver's twitter. "Who are you...?"
As she continued to go deeper and deeper in to the account, she began to recognized who he was. "Jcruz, as in the Justin Cruz." She gasped.
"Did someone say Justin Cruz?" Her younger brother barged in to her room with a bag of chips in one hand and two softdrinks in plastic bags in another. He offered her one and she gladly reached for it - sipping as she snooped.
With her older sister, and previous roommate, Coleen moved out, it was just her and Dean that was left at home with their parents. And the two have become closer than ever, considering they practically only had each other since their three other older siblings were busy with their own lives and families.
"Ate, dahan dahan naman ang pag bite ng lips mo. You might chew it off." He pointed out, as he sat across from her. "Ano ba kasi ang pinagaabalahan mo dyan?"
"Si Justin Cruz." Maine flashed her little brother her cellphone.
"As in my one and only idol?" He grinned. "May crush ka sa kanya no? Mag paligaw ka para mameet ko naman."
Justin Cruz was the newest member of PBA, and everyone's favorite athlete at the moment. Wherever you turned, he was there. From magazine covers, to commercials, the British-born Filipino's face was the nation's new obsession. Every guy looked up to the 25 year old, not only because of his talent but also his good looks. And he was every girls' newest crush, his face plastered in their bedroom walls (right next to the Pambansang Bae's poster, of course),
She shook her head and rolled her eyes at Dean. "You're annoying."
He waved her off, ignoring her comment. "Bakit mo ba kasi iniistalk si idol?"
"He sent me the gift basket." Maine nodded over to her desk where the present was sitting.
Dean gave her a look. "Weh... 'di nga!"
"Totoo!" She showed him the picture he tweeted her.
"Wooooow nung una si Kuya Tisoy, ngayon si idol! Haba nang hair mo ate!"
"Wag ka nga!" She shushed him with a pout. "Nangaasar ka nanaman eh."
"Joke lang. Asar agad?" Dean laughed. "Ganda kaya ng Ate Mengkulangot ko."
Maine hit her brother, shoving him off the bed. "Umalis ka na nga, pumasok ka lang dito to annoy me!"
But obviously, he was much stronger than her and fought her hands off - this time finding a spot right next to her. "Are you going to tweet him back?"
"Maybe." She shrugged.
"Do it."
"Bakit, so he can meet you." She mocked him.
"No. So he can meet you." Dean grinned, quickly grabbing the phone from his sister and running across the room.
"Hoy! Dean, anong balak mo!" She jumped out of her bed, attempting to grab her device from her brother's hands. But to her disadvantage, her brother was much taller than her making the task harder than she thought out.
Dean held the phone above her head as he continued to tap away. "Saglit lang ate, wag ka kasi malikot!" He used his body to block her.
"Susumbong kita!" She threatened. "Mam--"
Dean gave her back her phone, before she could continue to yell out for their mom - who's room was just down the hall. "OA much?" He laughed exiting her room.
"Che!"
She looked down at her phone to see what her brother had done. "Deaaaaannn!" She cried but she simply just heard his muffled laugh from his bedroom next door in return
