She didn't know how to feel.

A part of her wanted to be angry at him for acting like some kind of mind reader - claiming to say what it was that was in that head of hers. And another part of her wanted to crawl under a rock for having embarrassed herself for the second time in front of a guy she liked.

It takes a lot of courage for a person to rightfully come out to the one they had feelings for and tell them what it was that was on their heart. And Maine would have thought that maybe this time around, she wouldn't get the same response she did the first time.

"Maine, please say something." He pleaded.

It has been nearly three minutes, three long minutes, since she said a word and it scared him. Everything was going so well between them and he just had to be the good person and listen to his brain - his stupid stupid brain that ignored his heart's desire.

Why couldn't he just had taken the opportunity a few minutes ago and maybe actually be at the place that he spent days dreaming of? But no, he had to be sensible. He just had to be the good guy.

"If you're mad at me, at least do something. Buhusan mo ako ng tubig, sampalin mo ako," Justin listed, his tone growing more desperate by the second. "Just please, please Maine, say something."

"What do you want me to say?" She practically whispered, her gaze never meeting his.

"I-I don't know." He chewed on his bottom lip. "I just, I care for you and I don't want to be the person to hurt you. That's the last thing I want to do."

"Can we at least meet in the middle?" Maine looked up her brown orbs meeting his.

Justin took in a deep breath, not know whether he should take up her offer.

This is your second chance, Jay. He thought to himself. Make it right. Choose wisely.

This was what he had been waiting for since they become good friends, what is it that's stopping him now?

"Okay," He sighed, compromising with his heart's and brain's desire as well as Maine's. "We're going to take this slow, okay? Hindi pa kita liligawan, but I'm going to promise you this; I won't give up on you."

Her once tightened chest slowly began to let air in as she processed what Justin had said - a small smile forming on her lips. "Talaga?" She asked, a flash of hope twinkling in her eyes.

"I won't give up on you until you say the word."
