Curiosity often got the better of Pete, especially when he was a kid. He would ask too many questions, especially about the distorted face he saw every time he looked in a mirror. His mother avoided telling him until he was around fourteen, old enough to understand.

When Pete was thirteen, his mom called him into the lounge to 'have a chat', as his mom had put it.

"You have asked so many questions about the face in the mirror, so I ought to tell you." His mother spoke softly, every word sounding sweeter than she was. It was like her tongue was covered in sugar, every word that came out into the air, coated in it, making every word seem sweet when in reality it was more like icicles hanging of every word she spoke. "When you look into a mirror, what you are seeing is a blurred image of your soul mate-"

"What's a soul mate?" Pete tilted his head a little, looking at her from a different angle.

"Someone who you are made to be with." She smiled, her glossy lips stretching out. "If you get closer to your soul mate, the picture will be less blurred and you will soon be able to see a picture of a pretty girl."

"But mom," Pete said quietly, looking into his lap, then up at his mother again.

"Yes?" Her smile faded slightly.

"I think I see a boy,"

Okay so welcome to this fanfiction that me and LiterallyAGayMeme are writing. Admittedly, it's a pretty cool plot and I can't wait to get into the story. (PS, if you steal this idea in any way I will skin you alive).
That's all
