Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself. - Harvey Feirstein

If there's one thing I've learned, its that snotty girls don't change.
Their entire bratty life they want more, more, and more. Everything should go their way. And in the end, they're hopeless, alone, and unwanted.
It's kind of a sad thing, but it's true. thats why its always best to be good, be nice, and sometimes go against what you want and do what your friends want. Basically, go against human nature. Dumb, right?
I think that humans are greedy, impatient things. Unlike horses, they always want to be busy and doing something. They enjoy hurting each other and beating each other. Thats why I like horses- they're calm and sweet.
A few weeks ago, if you had told me I'd begin to like horses I would have called you nuts. But now I couldn't help but feel respect for Vegas. Something about him made me feel totally at ease, like I never had to worry. I think he felt the same.
Whenever I looked at him, I couldn't help but love him more. I tried not to love him, because he wasn't my horse and after this summer camp he'd be gone forever and I'd be back to spending days with my friends.
I almost didn't want to go back. Here it was peaceful and enjoyable, a brand new start. Not that I needed another start, I was perfectly fine back at home. However there was always that time when I wondered if my friends liked me, or my money.
Yeah, probably my money.
I lay on my bed, pondering my life, wondering if I should come back next summer. No.... Vegas could be sold, dead, who knows. It would break my heart.
I reached over onto my dresser and clutched my book. It was called "Canterwood Crest" and I had the entire series, a gift from my parents before they dropped me off. When I saw the cover and read the summary, I felt sick and wanted to dump all 14 books in the trash.
But now, after reading the first few chapters, I was totally hooked. This book was amazing.
I slowly read the next chapter, called "F is for Friday" and thought about how good Sasha was at fitting in. She already had friends, and maybe even a potiental boyfriend, and here I was with an enemy already.
Maybe if I read more of the books, I'd learn Sasha's secret. Just maybe....
With a large thud, the room's door slammed against the wall and my room-mate, Kirsten, stormed in. Her hair was tangled, and her clothes were covered in dirt. She slammed the door behind her and locked it.
"What happened to you?" I inquired as she began to strip herself of her clothes. Trying to avoid seeing the things I didn't want to see, I stuck my head in my book.
"Oh, nothing. Just Sherlock bucking me off while we were on a trail." Kirsten sounded grumpy and annoyed as she put on some new, clean clothing and went to wash her hair in the sink.
"Oh, ok. Sorry." I said, and ended the conversation by reading the next few chapters, totally entranced with the book.
An hour or so later, Kirsten came out of the bathroom, clean and neat looking as usual, and said, "Come on, its time to go get some dinner in the cafeteria. Hopefully they have pizza tonight. I've been craving cheese pizza for the past week..."
I nodded and slipped ky bookmark in place, leaving off at chapter 15. I quickly brushed my hair and followed Kirsten.
After about 5 minutes of walking down hallways, 10 minutes of strolling the sidewalks, and 3 minutes of chatting with other people, we finally made it to the cafeteria. Kirsten walked in and left me outside, nervously wondering where I should sit and what I should do.
Deciding to get over my fear, I opened the door.
And ran smack dab into the cutest boy I've ever seen.
