Liv's pov~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After deeming my outfit acceptable we had silently slipped out of the flat and went ahead with some much needed retail therapy. Louis insisted to pay for everything much to my protests. Though I wasn't the only one in the shopping mood because by the afternoon both of our arms were decorated with multiple bags.

After throwing the bags in the boot of Louis' car, he dragged me to a small ice creamery. I went up to the counter to order as Lou found a seat near the window. My feet were killing me from all the walking we had done and I'm sure his were too from the loud sigh that echoed through the empty shop. I paid the lady and brought our plain vanilla cones to the table Louis had chosen. He gave me a weird look as I handed him his cone.

"what?" I questioned dragging the chair out and taking a seat across from him. "Vanilla still your favourite? you're so boring" he said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and ignored his comment, there was nothing wrong with vanilla and liking it did not make me boring.

"It's weird being out and not being recognized" he mused looking out the window into the empty street "I don't mind it though". I had to agree with him there. Today we had been really lucky that nobody had recognized him and with the added bonus of the shop being off the main road and apparently not getting many visitors.

Come to think of it whenever we hung out no fans seemed to recognize him. Not once had someone asked for an autograph or picture when I was with him. That was one of the main reasons I forgot he was famous. He wasn't Louis Tomlinson from One Direction with me, he was Lou the kid who ate two packages of cookies at my house by himself just because they weren't available in the UK. He was the guy who stayed up a whole night with me because we were both too scared to sleep after watching a scary movie.

I'd never really been around his famous side and that didn't bother me too much, I didn't have to interact with the crazy fans. It was kind of weird that they were never around when I was though, maybe I was a repellent? Ouch that kind of stung.

I looked at my watch for the time and groaned when I realised it was still set in the wrong time zone. Louis looked at me with an eyebrow raised and his head slightly cocked to the side. He looked like a confused puppy and I had to stop myself from laughing at the comparison.

"What time is it Lou?" I asked and watched as he took out his phone and showed me. I reset my watch to the proper time which happened to be later than I thought and closer to dinner than lunch.

I set it and smiled at the proper time, I figured I might as well change it seeing as I was going to be here for a while. That's when another questioned sprang into my mind.

"hey Lou how long am I staying for?" I asked finishing my ice cream cone and wiping my mouth with the spare napkin.

"Forever" he replied instantly and his response would have been comical if it wasn't for the sadness in his eyes or the seriousness in his voice. My expression softened and I gave him a small smile "okay".

His face brightened instantly and it warmed my heart, this reminded me of the happy Louis I knew. "really?" he asked surprised and you could hear the hope in that single word. I chuckled and nodded at my silly friend "you're lucky I have a flexible job, we all can't be mega popstars" I said giving him a pointed look. I had to keep working if he wanted me to stay, I wouldn't take his money.

He nodded eagerly and the big smile never left his face "still taking amazing photographs? you never did give me the one of us you promised me" he said slightly pouting and it was my turn to nod.

"It's in my bag in your apartment actually" I said and his eyes brightened again. "but yeah it's easy money and I just need to post them. Speaking of I need to post some tomorrow night" I hinted at him hoping he would understand that he would need to drive me around.

His eyebrows furrowed and he looked down at the table. I didn't like the scowl that presented itself on his face. "Me, Liam and Zayn have an interview tomorrow" he mumbled. Well there goes that plan.

"Can Niall drive?" I asked avoiding the other name knowing that infact Harry could drive.

"no" he replied bitterly and I felt my hopes crash down. Maybe there would be a way for me to ask harry to take me without louis' help. It would be difficult but I need to submit the pictures by the deadline or no money for me.

We both jumped as Louis's phone started to ring. He looked at me then back at his phone before hesitantly picking it up and answering it. I patiently waited as Louis replied with a few 'yeah's' and ended the conversation with a 'see you soon'.

He slid the phone into his pocket and looked up at me offering his hand. "the boys invited us to dinner at Nandos" he explained and I took his hand. We made it to the car and after him laughing at me for going to the wrong side, we were driving to the restaurant.

The drive was quick and quiet except for the radio, but it was comfortable. Louis took a deep breath once we were parked. I grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze letting him know everything was going to be okay. The boys were already there when we arrived and as I sat down beside Niall I felt myself become extremely tired, damn time change. Louis sat across from me and beside Liam. Looking over the menu I had to stifle a yawn, that I hoped no one had seen.

"you okay?" an Irish accent sounded and I looked up to meet Niall's crystal blue eyes. "yeah I'm fine" I said averting my lingering gaze back to the menu. I looked over it again and was completely lost what to get. Everything sounded so good.

"That one's good" Niall's breath tickled my ear as he leaned over to point out something on the menu. I read it, closed the menu and looked back at him. "then that's what I'll get" I said and as if on cue the waitress came up and took our orders.

I glared at Louis when he only ordered a small salad and gave him a swift kick to the shin. He jumped but changed his order to the same thing as mine.

I was going to make him eat again. Seeing him so frail scared me shitless. Where was the boy who threatened my exboyfriend by showing off his muscles by purposely not wearing a shirt or the boy who had convinced me to eat after a group of girls laughed at me for being 'fat'.

This wasn't like Louis and he never told me that he had stopped eating. He had been lying to me a lot lately and that didn't sit well with me. At least I was here now and could actually do something useful instead of those late night phone calls.

The idle chitchat stopped when the food arrived and each boy dug into their meals hungrily. This was the perfect opportunity to ask about tomorrow.

"Niall, Harry, would you mind showing me around London tomorrow? I need to take pictures" I ask taking a sip of water. "Only if you're free" I add quickly.

"I'm free, Haz?" Niall says sending me a smile before looking at Harry. "Sounds like a plan" Harry replied before taking another bit.

I cautiously look at Louis for his reaction and he just sends me a small smile. okay good he wasn't mad. I look at his plate to see he has barley touched it.

I give him a glare and look from his plate to his face. He gets the message and takes a large bite with an expression that practically screams 'are you happy now?'. I smile and give him a signal to do it again.

He rolls his eyes but takes another bite. Little by little he finishes his meal and I'm beaming at the progress. None of the other boys notice our exchange or they just choose not to comment on it.

I was going to help Louis, I would not give up on him. I was going to help save him like he had saved me so many times before.
