liv's pov

We were the definition of laziness today.

Having decided that this was our official do nothing day, we donned our comfiest sweats and taken residence upon the couch.

We even went as far as bringing the coffee table closer so we didn't have to reach as far to Louis laptop.

"stop hogging the crisps!" he whined grabbing for the bag, which I gladly let him take. Yes we were pigging out on junk but he was eating.

"yeah Ollie stop hogging the crisps" a voice from the laptop called. I glared at my little brother as he started to laugh at me. "Jordan shut up you're just jealous cause you can't have any" I shot back. He shrugged and I knew it was true.

"When are you coming to visit Lou?" my mom's face appeared along side my brothers. Louis took a bite of a chip and shrugged "I'm not too sure about our schedule yet, but soon" he said smiling. My moms smile grew bigger, it was clear how much more she loved Louis then me.

"great! we'll have carrot cake to celebrate" my brother smirked. Ever since discovering the video diaries my brother had made it his sole mission in life to include carrots in everything knowing how much louis regretted saying it. Needles to say it bugged louis to no end.

Louis groaned loudly and flopped his head on my shoulder. "what's wrong Louis? I thought you loved carrots" my brother teased. "no, no carrots" Louis grumbled glaring at my brother.

"I think he prefers his carrots raw Jordan" my mom said not trying to keep the smile off her face. "not you too!" Louis exclaimed. my mom just shrugged "sorry Lou" when she sounded anything but sorry. She usually kept out of the ongoing carrot feud but she loved messing with Louis as much as my brother did. She treated him like another son, and loved him just the same as me and my brother.

"how have you been Louis? we hadn't heard from you for a while and suddenly my daughter is on a plane" my mom asks worried. My brother even looks serious, which is uncommon. Which was true, louis tended to make sure out Skype chats didn't include my family when he was upset because he would rather not worry them. So they were oblivious of his current predicament and about his recent break up.

Louis shifted uncomfortably under their combined gaze. "Louis just missed me and stuff happens. It wasn't like I was needed in Canada and you know how long I've been itching to come back to England" I said grinning trying to get off this topic.

Louis's hand found mine off-screen and gave it a squeeze, a silent thank you. I returned it once letting him know that it was okay. My response seemed to please my mom and brother.

That's when a certain blonde Irish man walked into the living room. "hey Niall" I called giving him a smile. My brother's jaw dropped, Louis looked at me and grinned, time for his payback.

"hey Niall, can you come over here and say hi to someone for us?" Louis said giving him a smile. Niall tried his best not to look shocked at louis current mood and sat down beside me.

"This is my mom, Maria and my little brother Jordan" I introduced. "hello, nice to meet you two" Niall said smiling at the computer. My brother looked like he was going to breathe. "Hello dear" my mother said, "Jordan say something" she said nudging him. My brother gulped "you're my favourite" he said quickly and I laughed.

"hey!" Louis exclaimed crossing his arms. Louis already knew that my brother's favourite was Niall. He liked the unique accent and admired his guitar skills.

My brother seemed to return to his normal self "sorry Lou but you won't eat the carrot cake" my brother tsked.

Niall, my mom and I laughed.

We talked to my family for a little bit longer before they had to log off.

We spent most of the afternoon being lazy selfs and watching silly YouTube clips. Louis was acting like Louis and I could tell by how happy Niall was that it didn't happen as often as it should.

Everything was perfect, and this day had turned out incredible.

Louis got off the couch and stretched loudly. He ran a hand through his hair "I'm going to shower, probably should" he said smiling before leaving the room.

I turned to Niall seeing that he was looking up another YouTube video. During the afternoon I didn't realise how close we had drifter together. We were right beside each other now, our thighs and sides touching.

As an unfamiliar melody started playing Niall sat back and looked at me with a giant smile.

"what's that look for?" I asked tilting my head in confusion.

"you're amazing" he grinned. I rolled my eyes at the compliment and tried to brush it off "I know I am but you're going to have to be more specific hun" I said grinning.

He let out a deep chuckle. "I haven't seen him that happy in a long time, you bring out the best in each other. I've never seen two people more connected and in tune with each others emotion" he said seriously.

"that's what best friends are for" I shrugged.

"you two are like meant to be together" Niall said and I looked at him appalled

"oh dear lord no, he's like my brother" I shuttered.

"You don't have feelings for him?" Niall asked confused. "Ew no and he doesn't either" I said clarifying our relationship.

Niall's grin got huge that I thought it was going to split his face in half.

"good" he said with a nod.

"good?" I asked confused.

"so he won't be mad when I do this" Niall said and I was about to ask what he meant, when a pair of lips pressed against mine.
