A/N: Just want you guys to know that the Mark of Cain in this story has nothing to do with the Darkness or Season 11 at all.
Cas (POV)
"So where is this portal back to earth?" I ask as we carry on walking, or in my case limping, through the forest. Dean is on high alert for any creatures that I didn't think he even heard my question. I go to ask it again but he stops abruptly and pulls me behind a tree to hide. "What is it?"
"Shush!" Dean whispered quickly and peeped out from behind the tree until it was safe to start walking again. "I think they can smell you. Humans aren't meant to be in purgatory Cas, they're not created for this kind of environment."
I went quiet until Dean nodded to me to tell me it was safe to follow him again. We started walking again, slowly and steadily so we didn't make too much noise.
I look down at Dean's hand which was swinging loosely at his side and think about taking it and holding it in mine. I didn't dare though because i didn't know how Dean would react to the sudden physical contact that he didn't insinuate. He had always been the one to suggest contact because i just assumed that he was the one in control so i had no idea how he would take it if i suddenly started holding his hand.
However this thought melted from my mind as howling sounds came from all around us. Dean started cursing wildly under his breath as he went into his jacket and brought out that scary looking blade again. The look of it sent shivers down my spine.
The creatures were back, the weird looking ones that called themselves leviathans. It was weird, i always thought that leviathans were sea creatures of some sort, i never realise that they were monsters who roamed on land.
"Stand behind me and against this tree and don't move from this spot!" Dean barked the orders at me and swapped the blade from hand to hand as he crouched down low, staring and snarling at the creatures in front of us. I couldn't tell which one was the worst monster out of the two to be honest.
Dean was the first one to launch at the leviathans, slashing his blade stylishly through the animals heads, his eyes turning black with blood thirst as he stabbed the creatures and spurted blood over the mossy forest ground.
I stare on in utter shock, so transfixed with what was going on in front of me, i didn't even notice the devil coming up to stand beside me at first.
"Impressive isn't it?" I hear him say, jumping out of my skin and turning to look at him.
"Oh no." I whisper, trying to back away but realise that the tree is still right behind me.
"I'm not going to hurt you, Castiel." He says, still looking at Dean with slight bemusement. He finally turns to look at me casually before shrugging and smiling. "Just here to get what's mine."
"I don't have anything of yours." I says, eyeing Dean up who was still on a killing rampage to get him to read my thoughts or something, to get him to stop what he was doing and just check on me for a second.
"You don't? Ah well then, i guess we are at a cross roads... if you'll excuse the pun."
"Hang on, Antikristo..." I say slowly, looking at Lucifer intently as he raises his eyebrows and leans his side against the tree.
"Hm?"
"That's what these things were calling me. They were calling me an Antikristo."
"No. They were calling you the Antikristo. I assume you understand what it means as it is in Latin and you are a priest are you not."
