Chpt. 2~ Getting To Know Each Other

Kate's POV~~~~The next day

Where's Jake? I thought. Somewhat looking around. Yesterday was great he was so sweet and kind. This isn't happening. Yes! I spotted him talking to some cheerleaders while giving a smirk. Oh give me a break. A bunch of people were motioning for me to come over and talk to them but I decided to make Jake a little jealous. I walked over to area of the jocks which was right in the eye sight of Jake. I started chatting with the guys and laughing at a lot of what they said. Jake kept glancing over and he held out his hand to the girls and said something I couldn't understand. He started walking over here. Alright play it cool. Don't mess this up. "Enjoying yourself?" He asked seeming a little flustered. " Yeah these guys are pretty cool", I told him giving a glare. " C'mon come with me." he said more happily. As I started turning around all the jocks were asking for my number, so I wrote them on their arms.

"Did you specifically need to talk about something or...were you just wanting to walk around?" I asked a bit annoyed. " Calm down let's just go over to the benches" He said. We sat besides each other. I felt him inch a bit closer but I wasn't paying attention all I could look at were his eyes. I just got lost in those big blue eyes that said everything. Finally I broke out of the trance and I blushed a bit knowing I was just staring awkwardly at him for a bit. " What are you like?" he asked. " I'm crazy...I love to do lots of things but they are much different than what most girls do these days" I say. "We're going to get along just fine" he said with a sweeter voice but chuckling a bit. He shuffled on the bench a bit causing our hands to accidently touch. I couldn't move mine. My hands were on fire and my body had tingles shooting through me. He cleared his throat and so I moved my hand. All of a sudden I felt his hand on my chin pulling me closer. Our eyes locked together. " You're beautiful." was all he said. I turned away to embarrassed to answer. " Thank you" I managed to say with a smile. I don't understand what's happening. Do I have feelings for him? " You're very handsome." I blurted out feeling like it was the right thing to say. "Am I?" He asked with a quieter voice. I looked up to him and his face was redder than a hot chili pepper. I started writing on a piece of paper. He had a curious look on his face. I handed him the paper with my number on it and stood up. " We have school remember?" I said laughing. I waved bye and started walking off. He just stood there and when I glanced back he was smiling at the paper.

Oh great I'm five minutes late. I hate walking into a class late because every body just looks at you and silently judges. Well here goes nothing. I pushed open the door and just how I imagined it everyone was staring at me. I handed the teacher a late pass and walked to an empty seat. " So glad you could join us Mrs.--?" the teacher asked hesitantly. " Mrs. Willard.". I said quietly. Everybody was murmuring and the teacher froze a bit. I was the daughter of a famous actress and my dad was a well known politician. Great right? No. I hated the attention. I totally zoned out. " Alright since Mrs. Willard it looks like you are having a nice daydream session why don't you tell me the taxonomy biology , group all these organisms up here" she said very stern. I grouped them all flawlessly. Did I mention I'm a nerd? Hahaha. I heard one guy in the back say" Pretty and smart? She's already better than all the cheerleaders.". I giggled a bit at that but the teacher looked pretty angry. The bell rang and I immediately got up to leave but everybody was trying to talk to me. I just bee lined around them when a hand got my wrist and helped pulled me out of there. " Oh my gosh thank you! I almost got stampeded on". I said exasperated. "No problem, it looked like you needed it", he said but all I could see was the back of his head. Someone shoved me and I rammed into him. " Hey watch it!" he yelled picking up some things. " You don't just shove a person after they help-", he stopped as he turned around. " Uh yeah I'm really sorry someone just knocked me into you." I said feeling shameful. "No no it's okay" he said and smiled. What the heck just happened. "You wanna sit with me at lunch?", he asked. " Oh uh sure", I said. I followed him to his table as he introduced me to everyone ,surprisingly everyone already knew me.
