Chpt. 7~ Painstaking Truth

Jake's POV~

I couldn't answer her. She was right it wasn't me to decide. I guess I really am falling for her but I mean could you blame me....? All night she was on my mind I even dreamt about her.

I sprawled my arms out as I yawned. The brisk cold air of the morning hit my face. I placed my feet on the cold wood floors and went to get dressed. I had a game today. That's exciting! I felt an eagerness to see Kate again. She was always on my FREAKING mind! Gosh this girl. I whipped out my large phone and decided to finally text Kate:
Me: Look I'm sorry you're right that wasn't something that I needed to get involved with.
Kate: oh my gosh no I'm so sorry I shouldn't have been so rude
Me: you weren't!
Kate:
Me: Plus I couldn't be mad at you
Kate: awe
Me: I was wondering would you like to come to my soccer game today?
Kate: what really? Sure!
Me: alright just send me your address and I'll pick you up.
After she sent me her address I let my parents know about my plans and got in my car. To Kate's house! As my car got into her gated community I stopped at her house and gaped. Dang! It wasn't the house size it was the details that got me! I stepped out and walked to her door . I rang the bell and waited patiently haha who am I kidding I was a nervous wreck. The door opened, "Jake!" She said smiling at me. She yelled a goodbye to her parents and closed the door behind her. I looked at her. She had some nice skinny jeans on and a white sweater. I stepped forward and looked into her sea foam eyes and took her soft hand. I led her toward my car and sat her down.

" I'll wait on the bleachers and trust me I'll be cheering for you" she told me giddily. I had to turn my head to keep myself from smashing my lips on her. Her mood was my mood. I stepped out on the field and as captain I had to go flip for our side of the field. We called it. As we all got into position the clouds seemed to be in our favor.

It was 4 to 4. If we didn't make another goal we were going to go into overtime which I hated. As Kaden passed the ball to me another boy on the opposing team did a slide tackle. I could hear booing and the whistle was blown. Oh my this was my moment I was doing a free kick. I stepped to the side and I glanced to where Kate was sitting, she was screaming. Do this for her I thought. Everybody was ready and I got some space in front of me. I took a deep breath and went forward and gave it my best aim and kicked. The ball went above the goalie's head and I went ballistic. Time was up. We won!!!!!I ran over to the stands and grabbed Kate. She jumped on me and gave me a hug and I swung her around. I was so happy. After I got dismissed and congratulated by the coach I walked with Kate back to the car. It was late by now and no one was really still around. Kate looked at me with huge doe eyes and I melted. "You were amazing" she spoke to me. I stared blankly at her. Say something you idiot. "I uh thanks". She giggled oh dang I think she will be the death of me. Then she stopped and this time I saw her move closer. I couldn't help myself any longer and I crashed my lips on hers. They were so soft and tasted so good. My body was moving like crazy and I had cornered her on the car. She wasn't kissing back but then that changed I felt movement coming back from her. My heart was about to beat out of my chest and I was smiling through the kiss. My hands went around her and I literally was having the best moment of my life. I leaned her back even more and she was still kissing me back so passionately. I've never seen a person kiss this good not even in movies. I couldn't get enough of her. I tasted more and more of her lips satisfying my undying hunger. My hand went up to her face and brushed against it. It was so soft. All of a sudden this beautiful moment was stopped. She put her hand up to me. "Jake we can't do this". I just looked at her wildly. " Can you please take me home?" She asked rather sadly. I turned away to embarrassed to say anything. We got in the car and the engine came to life. We drove off not saying a word to each other. She sat not getting out yet and I didn't want her to leave. "Why ?" I made out. She glanced and then got out. I touched my lip and watched as she walked inside. It hurt.
