Our entire lives we are getting scars, nicks covering our bodies, little memories of adventure or mistakes, but here, not all our marks are our own.

There is an ancient legend from before the human race. It goes "As the Sun and the Moon were racing around the Earth, the Sun had a plan to catch the Moon, he turned east and began to move as fast as he could.

As the Sun moved and into the night he began to glow brighter in the darkness, so bright until be blinded any creature looking at him, but the Moon was looking behind herself, not knowing the Suns plan.

The Sun moved further up into the sky to try to jump the Moon. As he did he got dangerously close to the stars, he thought he should stop, but he was still to close to be seen.
He began to feel pricks against his skin, little vicious bites from the heavens, he tried moving further up, but the stars pulled against his skin, ripping him with a thousand bleeding cuts.

He tried to move forward but the stars gripped him to tightly for him to move without being cut.

The Moon looked behind her and felt something was wrong, the skies behind her were not the beautiful shades of gold and rosy red that see had fallen in love with.

She realised the Sun was gone.

She circled the Earth for five days before she saw a shimmering star brighter than all the others.

She moved upward and was blinded by a dazzling light suddenly surrounding her, she quickly realised it was the Suns blood, pure light.

She went into a frenzy and followed the trail of blood leaking from the heavens. She tried to feel the familiar warmth that always surrounded him but only felt coldness.

She finally reached him, slick with blood, pale from the loss and as cold as snow. She reached up and took his hand in hers, feeling his life force slipping away while he told her what happened.

She began crying and blamed herself, say if she only let him win sometimes, but the Sun just smiled weakly and told her that as long as she lived, he would live on, and he did.

She used all the force she could and removed some of the scars from his body and put them on hers."

From then on their souls entwined, creating an unbreakable bond that defied all laws and rules.

If one were to get another scar the others soul would take it from their body and place it on their own, a way of protecting the other from harm.
The truest form of love.
