It had taken 2 months for my wounds and inner anaemic problem to fully heal, and by then everything was back to normal. Alice and Nate had finally become and official couple and Amanda and Daniel we’re still successfully dating. There was a small phase where Jessica had tried to break them apart and claimed that she was in love with Daniel this whole time, but it didn’t affect them in any way – and Amanda had dealt with it by getting a little jealous and slapping her across the face, earning her a two day suspension.

“It was worth it. That bitch needed to be put in her place.” She had claimed with a huge grin spread across her face.

Tyler had come over every single day since I had come out of the hospital, and he even started to use the front door. My mum had given him a spare copy of the keys after she had all the locks in the house changed and upgraded to the latest thing that was out, and Tyler looked at it as acceptance for sleeping over almost every single day of the week and eating dinner here every day with Katrina before taking her home and coming back.

He also liked the fact that his leather jackets weren’t getting scraped from the brick wall he had to climb, which had made me laugh at the time.

“Can’t you just tell me where we’re going? I hate surprises!” I groaned as we stopped at a traffic light on a semi-quiet road. The motorbike – which I still was very uncomfortable on and feared my life and soul every time I came near it or it came near me – was letting out a soft rumble along with the other few cars that were surrounding us and waiting for the red light to turn green.

“You’ll like this surprise, don’t worry, it’s nothing bad. Now you just keep clinging on to me the way you are.” Tyler said. I could practically feel his smirk even though his back was towards me. I huffed and frowned then clung onto Tyler even more tightly as the light laminated the street with a bright green colour and Tyler sped down the road in a haze.

I felt him chuckle as he started to slow down and I decided to open my unconsciously closed eyes to see where we were coming to a stop at.

We both took our helmets off at the same time and I physically felt my jaw drop. Tyler had brought us to a small hill that was covered in green grass and only the occasional patch of mud. Set up on the hill, was a picnic blanket with 3 other blankets stacked on top of each other in one corner and a medium sized picnic basket was next to them.

“Too much? It’s too much isn’t it? Dammit I knew I should’ve just gone with takeout and a movie as our first official date.” He muttered to himself, but I wasn’t paying attention to him. The view from the hill was surreal. It was night time, so the city scape looked like a painting with tiny squares letting out a golden colour from the lighting within the buildings, a slight breeze swayed the trees and the clear night sky was flawlessly black with shimmering orbs of stars filling its entire canvas-like structure.

“It’s… perfect.” I whispered as I took in more of the sight.

“Are you sure? Because if it’s too much we can go back. I don’t care. It’s your choice.” I turned around to face him fully and found him scratching the back of his head and playing with the gravel on the ground with one foot and I resisted the urge to pinch his cheeks. Tyler was nervous!

“No, I like it a lot. Thank you so much.” I said before wrapping my arms around his muscled torso and pulling him into a hug. His arms instantly came around my waist as he pulled me in closer to his chest, and I smiled.
