Picture Of Emma On The Side :)
"We've been looking everywhere for you! We even searched the library twice! Where were you?" Alice exclaimed once I turned up for lunch.
Everyone looked eager for an answer and I sighed and took my seat next to Amanda again. "Sorry, I sort of fell asleep in this little corner in the library. Although, I don't remember getting there. I remember sitting on one of the chairs and listening to music..." I frowned in confusion before shrugging it off. I sleep walk. That's a rational theory.
"Hmm, doesn't it seem fishy to you?" Kelly asked.
"Seems fishy to me." Katie added.
"No, not really. I think I might have moved on my own. I don't know." I shrugged.
"Sorry I'm late girls. Any luck? I still haven't found- WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Daniel exclaimed once he noticed me sitting next to Amanda.
Everyone giggled at his reaction and Alice answered for me. "She fell asleep in the corner of the library."
"Why did you run off anyway?" Amanda asked curiously.
"Tyler was annoying me." I muttered, getting angry again at the thought of his overly attractive jerk of a face.
"I don't know what was wrong with him! One minute, he was his normal self - coming to class late, ignoring everyone and everything and then as soon as he spotted Emma, he instantly got angry! It was really weird. Okay, he's always moody but I don't think anyone has seen him like this. AND YOU STOOD UP TO HIM! That was like watching a fighting show where the good guy wins!" Alice giggled.
"Technically, I didn't win. I walked away..." I muttered.
"Whoa. You don't walk away from Tyler O'Brian. You always wait for Tyler O'Brian to walk away from you. It's like a rule here. He always has the last word. Not that he talks much. You know, I think he's spoken more words today then he has in a month." Daniel said to himself. Everyone agreed with him and I frowned.
"So how long do the lunch periods usually go for?" I asked. Everyone raised their eyebrows, but didn't say anything about my sudden - desperate - change of topic.
"Around 40 minutes!" Kelly and Katie piped up at the same time.
"Oh. That's alright then. We have sport next, don't we?" I asked. Kelly and Katie nodded their heads and grinned at me and I smiled back.
"We're not doing much today. I think coach will just make us do some stretches and go for a run." Katie informed me.
"Oh. And Tyler O'Brian is in this class as well." Kelly said. An amused expression crawled onto her features as I let out a scowl at the mention of his name.
"Don't worry. He doesn't show up to class much!" they both said in unison.
"That's what Alice said about Legal studies!" I whined. Everyone laughed as I started knocking my head against the table. I looked up after a few minutes and decided to scan the cafeteria while they all talked about an upcoming event that the school was throwing.
My eyes travelled the tables slowly, surveying each clique and where they sat. There was a table full of goths in the corner, next to it was a table of nerds that had textbooks all over the table, then people that looked like half hippies - half musicians.
Other tables looked like ordinary people until my eyes landed on a table filled with perky cheerleaders and tall jocks. They were the loudest in the cafeteria - but that still didn't put any attention to them. My eyes finally landed on the table right in the center of the cafeteria. Tyler sat on the table, with his legs on the chair as he rubbed his jaw, looking thoughtful. The guys I saw behind him from when I bumped into him were surrounding him - smoking and looking at the other girls. They all acknowledged his presence, almost as if they couldn't survive if he wasn't sitting there with them.
