It was quickly approaching Christmas, sooner than Dan and Phil had anticipated. Mornings were cold and fog-riddled, and couldn't begin without a warm beverage and a larger bowl of cereal. Trees were shedding their pigment-lacking leaves.

Dil Howlter was still in his bed at 11:42am, snoring and cuddling into Totoro.

Dan, of course, didn't care, as he had wonderful reruns of the Great British Bake Off to watch. Those took priority over almost anything, and that included waking the very, very real sim that he was a guardian of.

Phil, however, was trying to find questions for the next Phil is Not on Fire, or PINOF, video and he was finding it very difficult to concentrate with his adopted sim's snoring playing at a loud volume from the other room.

He walked through the hall, and slowly creaked open the door. He felt bad about it, but he had to wake Dil up otherwise the video would be late.

"Dil?"Phil whispered softly, not getting any kind of response from Dil other than several loud snores.

Phil groaned.

"Dil...wake up sweetie."

'Sweetie?!' Phil thought to himself,'what am I, my mum?'

Dil turned over, now facing Phil, but his eyes were still closed and he was clearly still sleeping.

"Dil, it's time to wake up, sorry but I have work to do and things. I'm really sorry." Phil stated in a voice that was a little louder, and very clear. Finally, Dil woke up, and this completed the endless tune that once was his snoring.

He was very disappointed about having been woken up, as he'd been having a wonderful dream about Miss McGregor. Due to his continuing sleepiness, Dil was quite confused as to where she'd gone.

"Where's Miss McGregor?"he asked Phil through his yawns.

Phil, unable to make out what he was saying, asked Dil to repeat himself.

"Miss McGregor?"Dil asked.

"No silly, I'm Phil! C'mon, let's get you ready for the day."

Dil, still really confused as to what was going on, gave up and decided to go along with what Phil was saying.

An old Muse t-shirt and skinny jeans were picked out for Dil, and a pair of fluffy slippers adorned his feet. Dil brushed his teeth and combed his hair into place, and walked through to the kitchen to get something to eat.

Phil was finally able to concentrate on the production of the next PINOF video. He scrolled through the hashtag '#PINOF10', noting down the funniest and most interesting questions. Due to it being an anniversary of Phil is Not on Fire, the two London boys were putting the best effort that they could into this video. By best effort, that meant doing the whole video on a sugar rush.

They decided to film the video the next day, as today's plan was to watch Brave with Dil. It was one of Phil's favourite Disney films, as he enjoyed impersonating the Scottish accents that were featured in the movie, and Dan enjoyed watching him try to do so.

Dil was very excited to watch this new film, however he wasn't sure what the word 'brave' actually meant.

"Phil?"he asked quietly.

"Yeah, dil?"Phil answered through a mouth full of cereal.

"What is brave?"

"The film?"

"No, word..."

"It means...hm how do I explain it?"Phil asked himself," Brave is when you are very strong, and can do difficult- that means hard -things. Like a soldier, or a firefighter!"

"You and Dan are very brave."

"Oh, how's that?"

"You take care of me. Isn't that diffi...dif...difficult?"

"Sometimes, but that's okay. We love you a lot Dil, so we don't mind."

"I love you guys too!"

Dil bombarded both Dan and Phil with a hug, which was warm and featured many Christmas jumpers.

The movie came on, and the three got comfortable on the sofa crease. A red-headed, freckled Scot appeared on the TV that reminded Dil of someone that he knew.

"Talia!!"he exclaimed.

"Dil, that's not Talia-"Dan began, but before he could finish his sentence, Dil had plopped himself on top of a cushion right in front of the TV.

"Hi Talia!!!"Dil greeted, not gaining a reply.

"Dil, she's not-"

"Shhh!"Dil shushed Dan, too enthusiastic to see what he thought was Talia McGregor.

"Dil, we can't see the TV."Phil pointed out, receiving an apology from Dil and getting him to move back onto the sofa crease.

Dan was quite disappointed, why would Dil respond to Phil and not him? Was he doing something wrong? Was he a bad parent? Maybe Phil cared about Dil more than he did about Dan?
Dan's head was filled with confusion and upset, and so he left the room, leaving Dil alone with Phil.
'Probably how they want it to be...'he thought to himself.
