Chapter 3: Breakdown

Sasuke’s POV

I walked around the perimeter of the camp, worried about Moe. I know she’s an extremely strong S-rank criminal and all but… I’m her boyfriend. It’s what we do. I kept pacing when I heard a branch snap behind me. I turned around to see Moe walking with Ki and I walked up to her, pulling her into a hug. “Where were you? I was worried.” I told her. She chuckled softly, “I was just out for a walk, is that a problem?” she asked. I sighed, “No, just tell me next time okay?” I asked her. She nodded and kissed me softly. I held her closer and kissed her back. Ki made a grunting noise and got in between us, then he said something to Moe and she laughed nervously.

I looked at her confused, “What did he say?” I asked. Moe blushed and laughed nervously, “N-nothing! He was just rude.” She said and gave Ki a playful glare. Ki chuckled and shook his head, “That’s not what it looks like.” I said. She blushed harder and I smirked, “What did he say Moe?” I asked and walked up to her. She blushed and looked away, “He said he’s not ready for us to have kids…” she whispered. I blushed and heard Ki laugh hard, earning him a punch in the head from Moe. They started bickering and I just sat in a tree and watched. I smiled slightly, knowing that this is the side of Moe only I get to see.

I frowned when I felt an unwanted chakra signature nearby. I shrugged it off and jumped next to Moe, “You feel it too right?” I whispered to her. She nodded and hugged me, “Just pretend you don’t.” she whispered back. I nodded and hugged her small body. I kissed the top of her head, “I love you Moe.” I told her. I felt her smile and look up at me, “I love you too Sasuke.” I smiled and kissed her softly.

Kakashi’s POV

We were following Pakkun, he found Moe’s scent, to the place where Moe was camping at. I saw him gesture to stop and we all jumped next to him in a tree. I looked down and saw Sasuke standing in a small field. Naruto tensed up next to me but I covered his mouth with my hand and shook my head. He calmed down and continued to watch. Soon Moe came out of the woods with her summoning and once again Naruto tensed up.

I looked at Naruto and pat his shoulder, calming him down. We looked down to see Moe and Sasuke hug, I glanced at Naruto to see him smiling a little to himself. We watched as they kissed but her wolf interrupted them. I heard Naruto chuckle quietly. Moe’s words flashed into my mind again, “I maybe a S-rank criminal Kakashi, but I’m not a family killer.” Moe couldn’t kill Naruto because he’s her brother, meaning that she still loves him. “Fucking Konoha… I miss it, I don’t want to but I do.” She still has the Will of Fire; There’s still hope.

Moe’s POV

It’s been a few days and Team Kakashi is still following us. I sighed and looked at Sasuke, “I’m going to deal with this. Just keep going, I’ll catch up.” I said and left. I flashed behind them, “What the hell? Where did she go?” Naruto asked. I mentally sighed, “Behind you.” I said making them all jump into a defensive position. I stood up on the branch I was standing on, “Stop following us. This will be your last warning.” I said to them. I glanced at Kakashi and saw him shake his head, “No can do. You’re coming with us Moe.” He said strongly.

I pulled up my mask and shook my head, “It’s not that easy ya’know.” I said. I noticed Naruto clenching his fist tightly, “Why won’t you come back Moe… I miss you… You’re my little sister after all...” he trailed off. I felt a ping of guilt in my chest. ‘Why dammit. Why can’t you be heartless?’ I asked myself. ‘Because hostess, you know that you’re not a heartless person. You know you’re parents wouldn’t want that.’ Miki said standing up. ‘They left me, Miki. How can I forgive them for that?’ I asked her. She took a deep breath, ‘You don’t understand, you’re still a child. You have Naruto, do you not? Along with Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi? You have friends, a life, people who care for you? You baka, you’ve walked onto the wrong path. Konoha is where you need to be.” She lectured me. I grabbed my head and shook it, “No you’re wrong!” I yelled.

I saw Naruto run towards me, yelling my name. I blocked out his voice and pushed him away, “Stop it. Stop it. Stop it.” I said over and over. Great just what I needed. Another mental breakdown... in front of my enemies. They looked at me worriedly, “Moe tell me what’s wrong. Let me help you.” Naruto said inching closer to me. I stepped back, “You’re lying…” I said. He took another step, “I’m not lying Moe. I’m you’re older brother, I’m always here for you.” He said taking another step. I stepped back again, feeling my back touch the tree trunk, “No…” I muttered. He walked to me carefully and pulled me into a hug. My arms lay loose by my sides as I felt him cry against my shoulder. I felt something I thought only Sasuke could provide… Comfort. I felt my hands twitch, and felt myself give in as I hugged my brother. I felt him hug me tighter and I started crying into his chest. I never realized how much I missed him. I knew that I missed him to an extent... but this is so unlike me.

“Moe please come back to Konoha.” Naruto whispered in my ear. “I can’t. I’m sorry.” I said as I disappeared from them. I appeared next to Sasuke and he looked at me, “Everything okay?” he asked. I nodded, “Yeah, they won’t be following us anymore.” I said with a straight face. I felt my Akatsuki ring burning my skin and I looked down to see it glowing. I focused chakra into it and was pulled into a room, “What’s wrong?” I asked. Leader looked at me, “Where are you?” he asked. “I’m with Sasuke Uchiha and his team. We’re looking for Itachi-nii but I’m leading them in the wrong direction.” I told them. Itachi-nii sighed, “Moe you know I have to fight him.” He started. I cut him off, “I already lost Sasori-san, I’m not losing another family member as long as I can help it.” I replied.

He sighed and nodded, "Alright Moe-chan..." he replied. I looked at Leader, "Do you need something Leader-sama?" I asked. He nodded, "I have a mission for you. You're going to accompany Hidan and Kakazu. Your target is a jinchurriki in Kumogakure." He said handing me a file. I opened it and looked over her file, "Alright, when do I leave?" I asked him. "Immediately." he said. I sighed and nodded, but before I left Leader-sama pulled me into a hug, "Be careful." he whispered. I hugged him back, "I will." I said and teleported back. Sasuke looked at me, "Where did you go?" he hugged me, "I was a little worried there." he said. I looked up at him and giggled, "I was called into a meeting, calm down." I said and hugged him back. Sasuke chuckled softly, "Sorry." he said. 

I flicked his nose, "I have to go on a mission. So I don't know when I'll be back." I told him. He sighed and hugged me tigher, "Okay... Be careful okay?" he said. I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, yeah." I replied. He chuckled and kissed me softly, "I love you." he whispered in the kiss. I kissed back and smiled, "I love you too, Ducky-chan." I winked and teleported away.
