Sino kaya to?
Nireplyan ko ng ‘who you?’ tas hindi na nagreply.
Dumating na si Mr. Mercado kaya pumunta na ako sa office niya.
“Good morning, Sir.”
“Good morning. Have a seat.” Umupo ako sa upuan sa tapat ng table niya.
“Ano po yung sasabihin niyo, Mr. Mercado?”
“Yeah before I forgot. Here.” May inabot siyang sulat sa akin. Binuksan ko agad. “I got good news for you. Since maganda ang naging outcome ng work mo sa Cebu last time, Mrs. Crisologo extended her gratitude to you.” Nagulat ako sa nabasa ko sa sulat.
“Wait, Sir. Is this true? She’s asking me to work as Vice President on her foundation?” tanong ko. Vice President? Di nga???
“Yes, you read it right. Congratulations, Ms. Santos. It’s a job well done.”
“Really, Sir? Thank you. I mean… that was too much.”
“It is but I guess, you deserve it. Mrs. Crisologo have seen your potential and it really shows on you. You don’t have to worry that much kasi hindi ka nirerequire ni Mrs. Crisologo na magstay sa Cebu. All you have to do is to accept her offer and help her in raising the foundation kahit nasa Manila ka.”
“Wow. I can’t say anything more but how about my job here, Sir?”
“Wag ka mag-alala, dito ka pa din magtatrabaho sa akin. Kumbaga, sideline mo lang yung foundation ni Mrs. Crisologo.”
“Hindi ko po alam kung paano ko to sasagutin.”
“Well, you always have your time to think.”
“Okay, Sir. I’ll consult this to Mama Rosa first then when I have decided, I’ll tell it to you as soon as possible.”
“All right.” Tumayo na ako para lumabas. “And oh? By the way, I’ve seen flowers on your table. He really likes you a lot to make you smile like that. Stay beautiful, Sophia.” Nagtaka ako sa sinabi niya… sino kaya yung HE nay un??
“Thank you, Sir.” Lumabas na ako ng office niya at bumalik sa table ko.
Hindi muna ako umalis dahil napapaisip ako kung sinong nagbigay nito. Inabot na ko ng ilang oras kakaisip kung sino yung sinasabi ni Carla at ni Mr. Mercado.
Dahil hindi ko maisip, umuwi na ako. Haha! Kakapagod eh.
Pagbaba ko ng office…
Anong ginagawa niya dito?
“Niko?” lumingon siya sa akin at nagsmile
