Thursdays are always busy. We have to work hard in almost every class and recess is the only time when we get a chance to be able to breathe without worrying about we're wasting our time. I have been very busy today, from making projects to completing work without Lilac which is very boring. I like to have her around. She always cracks a joke or two to lighten up the situation. It's been two days since I have felt her boisterous energy, two days since I have heard her cute laugh. I'm really starting to think about going to visit her. You know, as a friend I should check on her and make sure she's alright. Second day without Miss Lilac Hudson and I'm already going crazy. What happened to me? "Hey!"-Someone, probably Liam greeted me. I looked behind and he was standing there, wearing a grey cap and a backpack in his hand with his kind smile. The only person I liked besides Lilac at school is Liam although Harry and Niall are nice too. "You're coming to the match after school, right?"-he asked. Why do I have to come every day? Why? Why can't I just curl in a ball in a corner of my room and listen to music? I ignored my thoughts and agreed anyway.

When school finally got over, I dragged myself through the corridors. Everybody was laughing and talking and for the first time in my life, I felt left out. I never bothered about these things but, ever since I made some friends, I started feeling like I'm one of them. I'm too tired to think about this right now. I went straight to the field and I was greeted by Louis kicking a ball in my direction. I flinched and stepped back. Did he do that intentionally? A stupid smirk spread over his face as he asked-"Hey there, Malik. Ready to play?" That little devil, I'm going to show you who I am! "You're here."- Liam grinned. "Remind me again, why is he playing with us?"-Louis rolled his eyes. I wanted to punch his face so bad but, I held back. "Because I want him to."-Liam retorted. That's my boy!

I tried to do my best today. Liam told me I was pretty good and he was lucky to have me in his team. I liked being here too. It's about time; I should play and make some friends. Enough of social isolation but, then again, I need my space. I need time on my own to keep it together. I don't know how I'm going to balance it all. "You're quite a player, huh?"- Louis mocked. What is his problem? He's a good player too, I must admit. We played some more and I walked home with Liam, just like yesterday. He told me that it's only been two days since he has known me but, I seem like best friend material. I never knew that, at least somebody likes me.

I went home and took a long shower. All the stress felt like it was going away as the water ran along my body and patted on my head making my hair stick to my forehead. I get the best ideas in the shower, believe it or not. Whenever I need to clear my head or just get some ideas for painting or writing I just stand here. It's soothing and refreshing. I was pretty satisfied as I walked out of my bathroom with a towel wrapped around my waist. I picked up my phone and checked it. No new texts. Nothing from Lilac. I made up my mind to go to her house today. It's better than just staying at home and wondering about what happened to her.

I dressed in a polo shirt and jeans. After making my way downstairs, I smelled something delicious being cooked in the kitchen. I peeked in and saw Doniya flipping a pancake. Hmm... I can't leave home without tasting one of those. I sat down in one of the chairs and smile innocently as she came out of the kitchen with a tray. "No, don't look at me like that. It's not going to work. I made them for myself."-she said pretending to be serious. "C'mon Donny, you won't do that to your little brother, would you?"- I chuckled. "I wish I could."-she said with a sigh as she set down a plate in front of me. I ate them delightfully and thanked her. I walked out of the house hurriedly. I walked past the people and almost ran to her house. After ringing the bell, I stood there, tapping my feet. A woman, whom I assumed to be Lilac's mother, smiled at me. Her hair was platinum blond and she had pale skin, similar to Lilac's. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Hudson. I came here to see Lilac; I hope I didn't disturb you."- I said in polite tone. "Hello dear, Lilac's hasn't been keeping well for a few days. But, she can meet you." She invited me inside.

Mrs. Hudson led me to Lilac's room. "Lila, your friend's here to see you."-she called out. Lila; sounds different but, it suits her. "What friend?"-a fragile voice answered. "It's me, Lilac."- I hoped she would recognize my voice. "Zayn?"-she used a surprised tone. When the door finally opened, I got a good look at her after two long days. She looked tired. Her hair was done in a bun and she wasn't as lively as she always is. She smiled weakly at me. "How have you been, Lilac?"-I was concerned about her. "I'm better now. Thank you for coming here. Nobody has ever visited me. Maybe nobody cared enough to do that. Anyway, I'm sorry my room is a mess with these tissues and plates everywhere. I didn't get any time to clean up."-she said. "I don't mind at all."- I smiled thinking about how much worse my room is. "When are you coming back to school?" "Am I missing out on a lot? I would try to rejoin tomorrow."-she seemed worried. We sat down on her bed and chatted for some time until her mom bought us some snacks.

"Why didn't you reply to my text? I was worried."-I asked. "I haven't switched my phone on. Wait, you were worried?'-she cracked a smile. "Kinda." "Thank you for being a good friend."- She went ahead and wrapped her arms around me. I sat there, stiff. Finally I put my arms around her too. We stayed like that for a while, it felt nice and warm. Then she looked up to me and giggled. "Hey, did you see Mel's new video?"- I wanted to know since she always gets fandom news before everyone. "Oh my God! When did it come out?"-she almost shouted. "Yesterday and it has beautiful effects. Mel looks stunning." "I need to see that right now."-she grabbed her laptop and started it. I watched her as her face kept changing expressions. When she clicked on the video she looked so eager and eventually she started smiling. I had the same reaction. "Whoa, I loved this!"-she declared after watching the video on repeat for five times. I can't complain because I'm guilty of that too. After spending some more time with her, I headed home.

I looked forward to tomorrow as I knew Lilac would finally be with me. I never knew that I would grow so fond of someone that I would think about seeing them every second.
