two weeks passed with more happiness and fun than i ever had in a long time. cade was my best friend. god, i never expected I would call anybody my best friend. i simply never had one.

he was funny and cute and witty. he knew i wasn't interested in him, and he wasn't interested in me either although our first encounter did hint so.

we had fun reading and talking and laughing together in the library, and we had lunch together most of the times we hung out.

he never judged me, not when i fabricated having an invisible skin disease and couldn't be touched nakedly, not when i said i didn't have any other friends beside him and luke and raven, not when i told him my parents had passed away.

in that short time, i learnt how to open up to him, to trust him. and i never thought it would benefit so greatly in my life. he was there for me, and meanwhile i could tell he had troubles and problems of his own, just like me.

one day, i arranged a dinner date for me, luke and cade to hang out together. luke hadn't met cade yet and was curious about him. he wasn't exactly excited to meet him but he agreed anyway.

we all sat in a booth at nando's, me with luke opposite cade.

"so, how's it going? anna told me a lot about you," cade started, "you both live together right? are you guys a couple?"

"i'm fine, yes and no." luke answered plainly. luke was right, i did live in his studio, lately more than i lived in my own apartment. i felt guilty about that, i hadn't been spending time with raven in a while. i wonder what wackiness she's been up to. probably breaking into universal studios at midnight for the third time.

"you two look really good together." cade stated, smirking at me.

my cheeks flared and i looked at anywhere but the both of them. "shut up cade."

out of my peripheral vision, i saw luke glaring at cade but his lips were smiling. weird.

honestly, the dinner was way better than i expected it to be. the tension and awkwardness vanished and the boys will now acting like good buddies, sharing stories and embarassing stuff about me. and i thought only girls did that.

"there was once anna peed in her pants when she saw a cockroach!" luke said.

"no, i did not, i only screamed!" i protested.

"another time, anna snorted out milk in the library!" cade laughed. "you made me!" i crossed my arms at the two retards laughing their heads off.

them making fun of my would have been the worst thing of the night... until my face got smushed into the sauce by cade. i wiped my hand across my smudged face and pressed it onto cade's. he gave a yelp but i said "you started it!"

then came a mighty food fight in nando's and ten minutes later, we were kicked out into the freezing cold street. i looked at luke, his hair coated with green substance, his cheeks red with tomato sauce and a crooked grin on his face. i looked at cade, his entire face oily with sauce and pieces of chicken sticking, rolling his eyes.

i never felt more like peaceful and happy. i never felt more like home.
