Chapter 8

The movie ended and I was honestly ready to go home. "you wanna go for ice cream or something?" nick asked kindly. "I'm actually kinda tired, do you mind if you can just drive me home please?" I asked him. "of course" nick replied. we got to his car but I suddenly heard my name being yelled from across the parking lot. "y/n" Matt yelled. "what the fuck is he doing here" nick said. "shh, hold on" I said. "what are you doing here?" I asked Matt. "I had to make sure you were okay. I'm sorry y/n. I just had to. I know we're not dating but you mean a lot to me" Matt said, grabbing my hand. "what the fuck man, don't touch my girl" nick yelled. "relax nick, I didn't mean it in that way" Matt fired back. "yeah okay, you fucking come here when we're on a date to 'make sure she's okay', yeah no, that's not how this works" nick said, stepping closer to Matt. matt's so innocent and good. he can't take on nick. "fucking deal with it. I care about her and I wanna make sure a douchebag like you doesn't treat her like shit" Matt yelled. I could suddenly see the rage in nicks eyes but Matt didn't back down. nick ran at Matt, tackling him to the ground. "no nick, don't" Matt said, pushing him off of him. "and why shouldn't I?" nick yelled, standing up. "please just don't. I don't wanna hurt you" Matt said calmly. "yeah okay" nick laughed and punched Matt square across the face. I could see Matt tensing up and suddenly I saw a side of Matt that I never have before. Matt stood up and clenched his fists together before running into nick and pushing him so far back that it seemed humanly impossible. matts eyes turned a bright yellow color and the veins under his eyes stuck out. Matt ran at nick and punched him many times over and over. "Matt stop!" I yelled but it didn't help. I ran over to Matt and tried to push Matt off of nick but his whole body was as hard and firm as a rock and he was breathing heavy. "Matt" I said stepping back. matts eyes turned back to it's normal color and the veins under his eyes went away. "I'm sorry" Matt said and ran away. "nick..." I whispered to him. he breathed slowly. he looked really bad. I didn't know what to do. "I'm gonna call 911" I said and picked up my phone. "no, wait" he breathed out. "nick your in bad condition. let me help you" I said. "y/n, I'm dying" he said slowly. "nick, stay with me. I'm calling 911" I said. I dialed 911 and the operator picked up right away. "911, what's your emergency" she said kindly. "please send an ambulance to  the San Diego movie theater. please hurry" I shouted. "okay we'll send someone right away" she said and then I hung up.
"nick, your going to be okay. listen to me please. just stay with me and listen to my voice" I said.
I called Matt and he answered right away.
"Matt please come back and help me" I screamed into the phone.
"I'm coming back now. stay there. keep him alive" he said.
he was there within 10 seconds flat and ran over to me and nick. "Matt help please" I yelled. "nick this is gonna hurt but please trust me on this one" he said.
Matt bent down and bit down into nick's neck.
I screamed, not knowing what was going on or what to do.
he didn't stop. he didn't pull away or anything but nick seemed to come back to life.
Matt finally pulled away and blood was dripping from his mouth.
"it was the only way. I'm sorry" he stuttered. "
"Matt what the hell is going on" I yelled in shock.
"I'll explain everything later just please trust me. now I have to go before the ambulance gets here. please just say an animal attacked him. you'll understand later" he said and then disappeared. nick was still on the ground, now his neck bleeding and the ambulance arrived.
