Chapter 22

"Excellent work Y/n. Very well done. Now that you have completed the 3 tasks that were assigned to you. I will let you know who I am and why I did this to you specifically. Meet me at Old Town Rd. at 3:30 sharp. Don't be late" it said.
I set my phone down and looked at the clock to check what time it was. 1:30.
I picked up my phone again and replied back.
"Is it okay now to go back home and also try to make up with Matt?" I said.
"You can try but yes it's okay" the text said.
I put my phone in my purse, ran upstairs and grabbed all my belongings, and then ran out the front door. I missed Matt's lips on mine. The way his hands explored my body and his sweet words flowing in my mind constantly. Wow the way being a vampire made feelings heightened. I love it. And I love him.
I raced over to his house as quick as possible and knocked on the front door.
Matt opened the door with a huge smile on his face.
"I've missed you. So much" he said and picked me up, spinning me around.
"I love you Matt and everything about you. I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Your the only person I fully told about all this. Can we please talk?" I asked him, walking inside.
"Of course" he said.
We sat down on his couch and I looked at him.
"I told u my first task which was to break up with you and we faked that and it worked out. Then I had to pretend to move out from my house and go live somewhere else and I told my mom it was fake and all that and moved in with Nick. Then I was told to kill your brother so I pretended to kill him and then dragged him into a room in nicks basement where there's no windows so no one can see him. But Matt, I'm so sorry. I cheated on you" I said, putting my head in my hands.
"You what?" he said and stood up.
"You fucking cheated on me? After everything we've been through? With who?" he yelled.
"Matt no" I said.
"Oh my god. MY BROTHER?" he yelled, his eyes turned red and his veins popped out under his eyes.
He ran out of the house and got in his car, driving away. I chased him outside and got in my car to follow him. We ended up at Nick's house.
"Matt please, I'm sorry. You don't wanna do anything" I yelled.
"Why? Because you love him?" he asked.
"Matt" I said.
"You just told me you loved me and that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with me" he yelled.
"I'm sorry" I said, walking closer to him.
"I thought we would spend our lives together. I thought we would have a family" he said, tears running down his face.
"I don't feel a connection anymore. The way you've acted recently. I'm sorry" I said, putting my hand on his arm.
"No, I'm sorry y/n. I'm sorry I acted like a monster recently with this whole vampire thing. I'm sorry, it's partly my fault too. I didn't get my act together until a couple nights ago when I realized that I needed you in my life. You deserve better and my brother is definitely better. He's been a vampire longer and he only drinks animal blood and he knows how to control himself. I want you to be happy, okay?" he said, smiling.
"Matt. You deserve someone so much better. I'm not worthy of your love. You need someone who is like you and who likes any type of blood and wants to be reckless. And I know you said u fixed yourself a couple nights ago but I don't want you to fix yourself because of me. You should be who you are" I said and gave him a hug.
He pulled away and then sighed.
"My brother's a great guy. I hope you and him are happy together. You both deserve it" Matt said and then turned around and walked away.
Am I even making the right decision? I barely spent any time with Alex but I always felt a connection since the minute I met him. This isn't the right decision. I was caught up in the moment but he isn't my sole mate...Matt is.
"Matt wait" I said and ran over to him.
"What the fuck are we doing? We're meant to be together. I love you and you love me. I don't love your brother. I was caught up in the moment and it's so stupid now that I think of it. I'm so sorry. I love you so much and I want to be with you for the rest of my life" I said, jumping into his arms and kissing him.
"Y/n, your the most beautiful girl I've ever met, inside and out. Everything about you is amazing and all your flaws are perfections to me. I am in love with you and I promise to change my ways and never get out of control again. We both had a stage where we went out of control and drank human blood and became vicious. But no more...it was mostly me because I turned you to that kind of lifestyle but you got out of it sooner than I did. I love you so much baby. Y/n, will you please make me the happiest man/vampire alive and be my wife?" he said, smiling and kneeling down on one knee.
I laughed. "Yes" I yelled and jumped into his arms.
He held me tighter than he ever has to his body and kissed my lips. I felt a connection that I never had felt before this day.
We walked inside and went downstairs to get Alex.
"Alex, you can come out now" I said and opened the door.
He sat in the corner and as soon as he saw me his eyes lit up.
"Finally your here. I was starting to miss you" he said but stopped in his tracks as soon as he saw Matt.
"Oh uh" he said.
"Yeah Alex this isn't gonna work. I got caught up in the moment. I'm sorry I lead you on" I said.
"It's okay. You guys were together first. It's all good" he smiled.
"Good but we have another problem" I said with a nervous giggle.
"What?" they both asked.
"Nick. He turned out to be on the people who have been texting me's side. He attacked me and I hurt him really bad. He's in the hospital now" I said.
"I'm sorry he turned out to be bad. He's an asshole" Matt said and then wrapped his arm around me.
We walked upstairs and locked nicks house, walking outside.
"Fuck what time is it?" I asked.
"2:45 why?" Matt said.
"I have to go do something" I said and then got in my car and drove away.
