Chapter 9

the EMT pulled out a stretcher and lifted nick up onto it.
"ma'am, did you witness what happened?" he asked me.
"yeah, an animal came out of the woods and attacked him. I'm surprised he's not dead. it was awful" I lied.
"well we'll take good care of him. he'll be okay" the guy said and then walked away, leaving me alone to all my thoughts.
I felt suffocated. I had no idea
what just happened and I had no idea how to feel. I needed to talk to Matt.
I called my mom and she picked me up.
"where's nick" my mom asked me.
"stuff went down" I said.
"is he okay?" she asked
"yeah he's fine. let's just not talk about it right now. will you drop me off at matts for a little bit please?" I asked her.
"of course" she said.
she dropped me off at matts and I knocked on his door.
his mom opened the door and smiled.
"hi Mrs. Espinosa, I'm y/n" I said with a polite smile.
"hello y/n, are you here to see Matt?" she asked me.
"yes please" I said.
"he's up in his room" she said and smiled.
I ran up the stairs, opening the door that said "matts room" on it.
he was lying shirtless on his bed, listening to music.
he turned his head and smiled. he pulled his headphones off and got up off his bed.
"hey" he said.
"hi.." I replied.
"we really need to talk" Matt said sighing.
"yeah, you think?" I said.
he laughed and then put a shirt on.
"sit down, this is gonna take awhile" Matt said.
he explained everything to me in detail. the way he just got home one day and he felt different. the way he looked at himself in he mirror and saw that he had sharp teeth. when his parents told him they were all vampires too. the way they taught him what to do and how to hunt. they way they taught him how to be responsible with the power. the way he had to bite nicks neck to save him and that he had to turn nick into a vampire so he could live.
"I-I don't know what to say" I said, shocked.
"it's okay, I understand it's hard to process" he said, putting his hand on my back.
"hard to process? I didn't even know vampires existed" I said.
"me neither, trust me. I'm still trying to figure everything out too" Matt said calmly.
I sighed and then sat down on his bed.
"promise me you'll keep this secret?" he asked.
"I promise. I wouldn't tell anyone. plus they wouldn't really believe me anyways" I laughed.
"true, but thank you" he giggled.
"so...let's drop all the bad in this and talk about all the good things that come out of this" I said smirking.
"well what do you wanna know" he asked me.
"what are your powers? like what else can you do" I asked him.
"I'm like incredibly strong, I can run at a lightning fast speed, I can read people's minds, and I can also see into the future a little bit. I'm still working on everything though" he said.
"see into the future?" I asked.
"yeah, like not WAY into the future, but like about a week or so into it" he said.
"wow" was all I said.
"yeah, sorry if this is a lot. I just needed to tell you" Matt smiled.
"it's okay. I'd rather just know" I assured him.
Matt stepped closer to me. I could almost feel his breath on my neck.
"your so hot" Matt said.
"Matt..." I whispered.
he stepped even closer and this time his breath hit my neck, causing chills down my spine.
"I'm with nick Matt" I said.
"please y/n. you've liked me since 5th grade and you only just met nick. your meant for me and I'm meant for you" Matt said.
he leaned in and placed his soft lips onto mine.
I didn't know how to react. the kiss was passionate, yet gentle.
he pulled away but I didn't want it to end.
"just let me know" he said.
I left his room, passion filling my body.
I think I love him but I don't want to admit it to myself or to him.
"thank you Mrs. Espinosa" I said and then left.
I walked home since my house was right down the street.
"I've never felt like this before" I said to myself.
