When Amber drove away, I walked back to my apartment and went straight into my room. I did not feel like sitting around and smoking weed anymore; I just want to sleep my day away. But when I closed my eyes, all I thought was Amber's teary eyes as she went into her car.
I can admit; that was low of me by basically calling her a hoe. But it's not my fault I snap some times. I can't hold it, to much shit happened in my life for me to be nice and have my cage of emotions open for this one girl that would never last in my life.
Truthfully, the only person that would see me with my guard down is Malaya. Because she's my sister of course and I love her; I would do anything for my baby sis. Speaking of my baby sister, why is she calling me. Oh yeah, because I told her too.
"What's up?" I greeted as my head hit my fluffy pillow.
"What's up with you? Why did you want me to call you?"
"So I can check up on you."
"Well thanks. I can't talk long, I gotta go."
I scrunched up my face. It's ten o'clock in California, I know a library ain't open at this time of night. "Where you going?"
Malaya sucked her teeth. "A frat party."
"A frat party?!" I basically yelled in disbelief. My sister was never a party type; which is good, but to hear that she's going to a huge frat party, with drunk boys that don't know what no means, slutty girls and drugs that people are easily handing out. The thoughts of my sister using drugs makes me uneasy. "Isn't it a school night?" I asked.
Malaya sighed and I knew she rolled her eyes. "I'm not in high school anymore AJ. It's no such thing as a school night nor curfew. Besides, my classes are in the afternoon. Which mean I can stay out and still have time to get three hours of sleep."
"Little girl. You better be back at your campus at twelve, do you understand?"
She laughed.
I hope she knows I'm serious. "I'm serious."
"You are so funny big brother. I'll call you in the morning."
"Malaya Tanya Heath, don't you dare-" I was soon cut off by a deep voice that made my sister giggle. "Who the hell is that! Get your rusty ass out my sister dorm nigga!" I yelled in the receiver.
"AJ shut up! Gosh." Malaya yells back. "I'll be out in a sec Frank."
"I'll be out in a sec Frank." I mocked her flirty voice. "You better not be popping your pussy at this party and don't do drugs nor drink too much."
"What am I supposed to do? Stay in the corner and be like Alessia Cara and sing Here out loud?"
"Hell yeah, I'll even be on the phone, singing it with you. Oh here, oh here, what am I doing over here." I started to sing, earning a laugh from her. Hearing her laugh and all happy brought a huge successful smile on my face. I'm glad I can make her happy.
"Your so silly big brother. But I really need to go."
"Aight. But one thing."
She sighed. "What?"
"You got some condoms?" I said in a low voice.
Malaya gasped in shock. "AJ! Wha- why would you ask that? You know I don't and will never have sex until I find the right guy."
"Good, because they'll be no fucking tonight. You here me?"
"Goodbye AJ."
"Bye."
