I looked down at the yellow envelope in my hand that holds more information about this woman I'm supposed to find and kill in less than 24 hours. I sighed and threw the envelope next to me on the bed.
"What's that?" I heard Amber's raspy voice and felt the bed shift. I looked up at the mirror directly in front of me to see her beautiful face.
"Nothing, just work info," I shrugged to make it seem like what's inside the envelope is not serious. "You bout to leave?" I had to ask. For the past week, she has been coming over and leaving either that night or early in the morning.
Amber stared at me before shrugging. "Do you want me to leave?"
I quickly shook my head. "Nah," I sighed then crawled next to her in bed. "Not at all," I kiss her bare shoulder. "Am I still on your hate list?"
Amber chuckled. "I never put you on the hate list. But your still on a thin line though."
Of course. I'm not even surprised to be on a very thin line with Amber. "Okay," I said.
"To not be so close to that line, how bout you take me out to lunch today," Amber suggested.
I kiss her bare shoulder once again before breaking out the bad news. "I'm sorry babe, but I have to work."
She sighed herself before turning her back on me. "Okay," she said with disappointment in her voice.
"But I'll take you out to breakfast, how bout that?"
"It's okay AJ," Amber turned back to me. "I have work, I should get going," she lifted herself out of bed and started to put clothes on.
"Are you sure? Amber I can take you to-"
"It's fine, AJ." She ran her fingers through her messy hair until it was decent enough to go out. "I'll call you," she picked up her purse and jacket before walking out my room, soon my apartment.
I flopped back down on the bed with a huff. "Fuck."
"Girlfriend troubles?" Shawn walked in the room with an apple in his hand.
I sat up on the head board and shrugged. "I don't know if we're in that title anymore. It would be more like fuck buddies," I stated.
Shawn took a bite out of his apple not before saying: "Well you did- almost cheated on her. That's where you fucked up, or in DJ Khaled terms; you played yourself,"
"Did anyone tell you, you're a good friend?" I asked sarcastically.
"All the time."
I shook my head. "Whatever, listen I'm bout to head out. Make sure you lock the door when you leave out."
"The fuck do I look like. I'm a grown ass man, not six," He retorted.
A chuckle pass through my lips. "You fooled me."
"Fuck up," with that he walked out my room to probably get some more food.
After doing my morning routine, I finally left out the apartment with the envelope on my hand. When I got in the truck, I opened it.
Stacy Gillo it read. I looked at the picture to see a olive skin beauty with black wavy hair, light brown eyes, big fat lips and on fleet eyebrows. Damn she sexy, to bad I have to kill her ass.
After finding out her address, I out the information on my glove department and locked it up. Just in case reasons. Her apartment is all the way in Baltimore, so it's going to take about an hours including traffic to get there from where I am. Rather just get some coffee and chips.
