I sat on April's couch as I wiped the morning crust out my eyes. After the whole confession with Amber, I left- well she kicked me out- of her apartment and the only place that had open arms was April's. I would sleep in any of the guest bedrooms, but the plumber is finished fixing the pipes and my carpet is not soaked with water.
I can finally go home."AJ." April called out my name before walking into the living room, seeing me looking like a mess.
"What?" It came out as a muffle when I was wiping my hand down my face. I already knew why April wants to talk to me early in the morning, but I was not ready for her lectures.
April stood in front of me with a unknown expression that I have not encountered until now. "Why?" She sound concerned and pissed.
"Why what?" I looked up at her like I did not know what's she's talking about.
"Why would you break up with Amber?"
I chuckled. I didn't mean to, but I did. "First of all, she broke up with me. It's hard to admit, but it's true. I came home late from work and she started to flip off and shit. So when she said I need to leave, I packed up my shit and left." I shrugged like it was nothing, which it was.
April sighed. "Amber told me everything that happened last night. We didn't go to the club, we stayed here and talked while eating ice cream."
"Of course she told you everything. Y'all females can't go without telling all of y'all business." I snapped.
April looked at me like I grew two heads. "I don't know who you snapping at, but it ain't me. Whatever issues you have with Amber, is y'all problem now. You don't have to worry about me getting in your business, any more." With that, my home girl walked away.
Shit. Fucking up my day already...
**********
I walked inside my wet smelling apartment. Everything seems in their right places, the landlord wouldn't dare to steal from me, but you still have to check nowadays. Shawn decided to stay at April's a little longer, so I have a whole place to myself. I can finally be alone for once without people crowding me. I immediately stripped out of my clothes and got into my shower, so I can watch Amber's smell off of me. Blueberries....
Shame on me when I didn't bring my Axe soap with me, right?I sighed before lathering myself with my dove soap, before my Axe soap. After I was done, I turned off the water and drawn my curtains open; hoping to see Amber leaning on the sink. But we all now that won't happen again. To see her pop up with a smile on her face or even a frown.
It's over remember. Both of us ended it, before it became worse.....or better.
I walked out the bathroom just in time to answer the sudden call on my cellphone. "Yeah?"
"AJ?" Shanice voice ringed through my ear. "Don't hang up." She urges out.
"How did you get my new number?" I asked with my thumb hovering over the end button, not before putting her on speaker.
"I just want to ask if you're going to John's party."
Damn. "His birthday party?"
"Duh." She chuckled. "Don't tell me your girl made you forget."
"I'll think about it." I said, hoping this call will end soon.
