Come Back To Us

Carl's P.O.V.

How could we have thought this place was safe? For Me, for Ella, and for Shayle. My two sweet baby girls never deserved this.

Why did I ever agree to another baby? Dont get me wrong I love Shay to bits and pieces but...we knew we would never be safe....why'd we do it? With a short sigh I look at Ella.

She had been tossing and turning all night. Whimpering too. Enid came sleep over with Ron because he was a upset mess. Who could blame him though? His father had just been killed.

Shayle started crying so I picked her up. It was about ten o'clock now and she was taking a nap. "Hi princess." I smile with a soft laugh as she smiles back.

I look out the window smiling as i see Maggie wave at us. I wave back as she walks into Deanna's house. Shayle started making noise as some weird looking guys started running around while a loud horn starts going off.

Shayle's bottom lip starts to quiver as my heart drops.

Are we being attacked?

As on que someone stabbed a person from Alexandria. "Ella! Wake up! Wake up now!" I yell as I place Shayle on the bed next to her.

Ella quickly sits up looking confused. "Babe?" She calls out as I grab my gun. "Baby what's wrong?!?"

"People....they're attacking." Enid stands up. "Where's Ron?!?" I shrug.

"Maybe with his mom but I'll find him. You stay here with Ella." I say. Ella stands up with Shay in her arms.

"You cant go out there!" I kiss her. "I have to protect out family." Ella shakes her head. "No no no!"

"I love you." Was the last thing i said before i ran down stairs to be met with Carol.

Ella's P.O.V.

"Ella I have to go okay?" I nod while Shay laid her head on my shoulder. "Judith I need Judith." Enid got Judy for me.

"Go in the closet with your gun and knife and try to put the girls to sleep so they don't make noise okay?" She tells me. I nod scared for my family. "Carl and I wont let anyone get up here."

Enid waited for me to get in the closet with a blanket and some food, formula, and diapers for the babies. Once i got in there Shay fell asleep no problem but it took Judith a little while.

Once she was a sleep i sat there scared to death of the horrid screaming i could hear from outside. Scream after scream. I knew we had lost someone.

I wanted to cry, but I couldn't. I had to stay strong. Thirty minutes to an hour went by. I still sat there in the dark closet with the sleeping babies.

Soon I heard foot steps running upstairs. "Ella?" I could hear Carol call out. She opened the closet door. "You okay?" She asks.

I nod while standing up with Shay. She grabs Judith. "Is it over?" I ask as Carl walks into the room. "For now ....yeah, yeah it's over babe." He hugs me.

"Who was it?" I ask. Carl shook his head "They had W's on there heads. Wolves i think Morgan said they call themselves." We walked outside.

People lay dead on the ground. I spotted Maggie  while Carl took Shay. Running up to them Maggie turned around. She hugged me tightly. "You're okay?"she asks.

I nod "Maggie...what happened?" I ask. She sighs "We got attacked by these weird guys princess."  I frown with a nod.

"Where's Glenn?" Maggie pushed my hair back. "He'll be back soon and then if you want you and Carl can come ovef with Shayle and we can all hang out. Okay?" She smiles.

"Yeah that sounds great." Maggie kisses my forehead. "Lets go get you rested." Carl whispers in my ear. "Do you think we'll see Mom?" I ask.

Carl frowns "Baby girl....i dont think so. She told me she cant see us as much anymore."

I felt a ping of pain form in my chest "B-but i want...how are we...how are we suppose to see Em?"

Carl kissed me "We're going to have to wait like everyone else does." I didn't like that idea. Not being able to see my baby girl.

It didn't set in right with me. Carl made me take a nap and I prayed i got to see the family. It was weird how we got to communicate with our dead family but I accepted it because its our family so.

I just wonder, why and how does this happen? I don't know. Once i feel asleep....I didn't know if it was happening just in my head, but it happened. I saw them. I saw my baby!

She was getting bigger and she was just beautiful! Then Beth...oh how I missed her, also Mama!

"She's here. Remember take advantage of this. She and Carl will have to soon see us less and less." I heard Lori's voice say.

My eyes opened to see my mother holding my beautiful baby. "Hi babygirl." Gareth smiled.

I still never understood why they let him in here. Maybe he asked for forgiveness and God accepted? Or maybe Grandma and my uncle made him do it because they aren't here.

I smile "Baby..." I wanted to cry. Em had gotten so big she was trying to walk but couldn't do it yet. I picked her up.

"You look just like sissy and Daddy." I giggle. Momma hugs me "We need to talk." Beth frowned.

"Glenn....Glenn is in danger. You need to tell someone if he doesn't come back." My heart fell as the words came from Lori's mouth.

Hershel and Bob came in with Tyreese. He smiled "Your doing a beautiful job with Shay." I smile happy that he thinks so.

The dream thingy ended after we talked for a while. I smiled as I saw Carl holding me close and Shay sound asleep in her crib.

You did something right Ella.

You have a beautiful family.

Maggie walked in "Glenn isn't back..." I nod "Stay with us.." I say as I scoot over. She lays down next to me and I grab her hand.

"Him and Nicolas will make it." I reassure her. Maggie nods then kisses my head. She falls to sleep and Carl kisses my back "Your so sweet." He says before passing out again.

I was so worried when i went to sleep. The last thing I remember thinking was...Glenn please...please come back to us.
