Keep Your Family Close

Ella's P.O.V.

We're safe for a minute...just a minute then everything turns to shit. We always hope that when we fund a new home maybe we will be safe there, but we never are.

We hope that maybe our family would be safe. All of us one safe happy family. Maybe we could add on too? Maybe Maggie and Glenn will have a baby, or Eugene and Rosita. Thats what we hope and want.

We seem to get that at first. We get out safe haven and get so excited! Then.... everything comes crashing down. We dont get our safe haven, or our bigger family.

We stay how we are, or get smaller. Usually we get smaller though. Ive counted how many we've lost in the last two  years

1-Lori the mother who loved her kids so much that she gave up her life for them , 2-Andrea the girl who just wanted to make peace between everyone , 3- Merle the ass hole we had to live with because he was a Dixion and Mr.Daryl Dixion is our family and we do anything for family.

4-Patrick the nerdiest guy you could ever find but he had an amazing heart, 5-Karen One if the sweetest people I have ever met, 6-Hershel the man who could tell you the wisest tales and tell you how to make on good spaghetti. 7-Beth the beautiful girl with so much hope. 8-Bob the man who always has a smile on his face around us. 9- Tyreese the strong brave man with a bug heart.

Then there was 10-Noah a guy who was hilarious and brilliant, then last my baby girl 11- Emma. My baby who was taken away from my arms by a cruel monster.

Eleven people lost.... eleven wonderful amazing beautiful people whose life was taken away from us.

I hadn't fallen asleep for long. I just laid in bed Rick wasn't home but neither was Carl. When I woke up her was gone and Rick hadn't came home.

I was scared. What was going to happen? I couldn't dare go out there again with my baby. I looked out the window while picking Shay up. I brought her into Carol's room and left a note saying I went for a walk.

It was still dark but I didn't care. I felt bad for..everyone but mostly I felt bad for Ron and his brother. My legs took me speeding towards his house as I cried. Carl wasn't at home so where could he be?

I heard a door shut loudly with a cry. "Ron?" I call out as I saw Ron walk outside. He looked at me as I opened my arms then ran towards me.

Ron cried harder while wrapping his arms around my waist. "Shh it's okay Ronnie boy." I whispered. "How about we go find Enid?" I tell him.

He nods while sniffling. "Where's Carl and Shay?" He asks.

"Shay is with Carol and Carl i don't know." I look at Ron as we walk. I saw Enid on top of a shed. A smile spreads across my face until I see Carl sit down besides her. Enid puts her hand on top of his. "Don't worry. No one will make you guys leave. You have a baby that everyone loves and a beautiful wife. They aren't going anywhere."

Carl shakes his head "Enid im scared for my family, for my friends, for everyone." Ron tugged on my shirt. "Lets go up."

I nod and we did. I sat behind Carl and he smiled at me. "Where's our little one?" He asks.

"With Carol." I kiss his back and Enid looks at Ron. "You okay baby?" She asks him. He shrugs. "Want to sleep on it at my place?" She asks. Ron nods and I smile.

They left while Carl and I walked. We talked for a bit until we came up to the scene where it all happened. Deanna still sat there with Pete's head in her lap. A pool of blood slightly forming around her.

I walked over to her. "Mrs. Deanna..." She looked up at me with a small smile. "Hi dear." I smiled " how about we get you to bed? Carl will put Mr.Pete somewhere safe and we can bury him tomorrow and give him flowers."

I helped her stand up feeling bad for her. She looked like she was in a state of shock. "Go get Maggie for me please?" I ask Carl.

He nods and runs off. Deanna looks at me. "Keep your family close because you never know when you will loose them." She whimpered.

I nod "I wouldn't let my baby boy and girl go for anything." I whispered. Maggie and Rosita came towards me. "We should get her cleaned up and to bed." I say.

Maggie nods "I thought you went to sleep." She tells Deanna.

"Couldn't sleep." Maggie grabs her and Rosita hugs me. "Go with your baby and sleep."

"You sure?" I ask. Rosita kisses the top of my head. "Positive. Now good night I love you, and if you beed something just wake Abraham up or Glenn." I nod.

"I love you too." Carl picks me up. "I got this little one. Were going to the house." Carl walks me to the house. "Glenn." I call out as I see him. Glenn runs over to me.

"Whats wrong Ell?" He asks.

I get down from Carl's grip and hug Glenn. "Goodnight." I kiss his check. Glenn smiles "Goodnight."

I was doing what Deanna said. Keeping my family close. Carl and Shay, thats my little family, but Rick, Michonne, Maggie, Glenn, Tara, Rosita, Eugene, Abraham Carol and everyone else....thats also my family and I'm keeping them close too.

When we got to the house we saw Rick. He smiled at us. Carl ran up and hugged his dad. Rick hugged back looking at me. I hugged Rick too "Where's my grand baby and daughter?" Rick asked. "Upstairs and with Aunt Michonne."

Rick nods "Don't worry about anything. Everything will be how it should be soon." Carl looks at his Dad.

"No one is going to like us Dad." Carl shook his head. "Me? Maybe not, but you two....trust me Carl they love you two and that baby."

"Are we going to be safe now?" I ask. Rick nods "We're guiding this place now. They do as we say for now on." Carl and I nod.

"No one else is dying. Im tired of this. Too many if our loved ones have died from sick people." I frown looking down at my stomach.

Emmie

Carl places a hand on my back. I look up at him with a small smile. I nod "Do what's right. Don't let anyone else get hurt." Carl says.

Enid ran into the house with a scared expression on her face. "Have you guys seen Ron? I went shower and he was gone."

"Is he with his mom?" I ask. She shakes her head, tears forming in her eyes.

"Ill go look for him. Stay here with her." Carl says. "Carl no!" I grab his arm.

"You would want him to come look for me if that was me wouldn't you?" Carl asks. I stayed silent and nod.
"Ill be back. I swear." Carl kisses my for head.

"Rick please g-" rick cut me off. "Of course im going."

Carl smiles at me "I love you." He kisses my lips.

"I love you too." I sigh as he walks out the door with Rick. Enid was pacing back and forth. "Come on lets go get some sleep." I grab her arm. She nods as I walk her to my room. Enid smiles at Shay sleeping.

"Im scared. Ron was the first person to understand me..." i made her lay down. "I'm sure he's just at the pound or something. Now go to sleep." I tell her laying on the side of her.

"Thank you El." I nod "Your welcome Enid."

Enid fell asleep and I still couldn't. What a joy.
