ERIC POV
I sat in Max's office for half an hour with Chelsea before he came back we sent Chelsea to Max's apartment with Raymond, she hadn't come out of her traumatic state yet but it usually took around five hours anyway so I wasn't concerned yet
"I can't get my fucking head around this why hadn't I seen it why did she tell you instead of me" Max was pacing around his office I had told him about the whole Ryan situation no doubt about it Chelsea was gonna kick my ass later over it
"Sit down Max for crying out loud" I said he sighed and sat down rubbing his head
"My little girl was tortured by what that piece of shit did and she couldn't tell me about it what kind of father does that make me" he sighed
"Max your a great father to her you made her strong, brave and confident she stands her ground even if the odds are stacked against her most people would have broken down into a heap of depression or run away from the faction but she didn't she stayed and fought she held her head high she didn't let Ryan drive her away your a brilliant father Max you brought her up better than anyone else could've" I told him he hummed
"Then why do I feel like I've failed" he sighs
"What would Sarah think of you right now instead of doing something your wallowing in self pity now get up and do something about Ryan" I shout getting annoyed with him
"Your right" he says he gets up and walks out I follow we go to his apartment I see Chelsea laughing at Raymond
"Hey dad, Eric" she said I almost fell over
"you remember...YOU REMEMBER" Max cheered hugging her she chuckled Max let her go and looked at me "Raymond could you give us a sec" Max asked he nodded I could see Chelsea look at me we both knew what Max wanted Raymond to leave for "Right sit down you two were gonna talk about this 'relationship' " we nodded and sat down Max looked at us "I understand it's been going on for 3 weeks now" I nodded "So Eric why my daughter" Max asks me
Chelsea POV
"So Eric why my daughter" my dad asked him I wanted to know why as well I mean he could have any girl why me
"She's a fun person she's someone I can be myself around without worrying about being judged also she's not like the rest of the girls she's true dauntless she's not afraid of breaking a nail or constantly thinking about the next man she's gonna sleep with instead she thinks how to better herself she's like no one I've ever met before" he says I feel heat rush to my cheeks "and her blush is just adorable" he adds I must have gone as red as a tomato
"Do you love her" my dad asks
"Yes with all my heart I would give my life for her" Eric replies my dad nods
"I think your good for her I will let you be together but promise me one thing each of you" we both nod
"Eric don't break her heart, Chelsea don't get wasted, I trust you Eric to keep her in line, okay" my dad says
"Yes" we both reply
"Okay I've got some paperwork to do so see you guys later" my dad then walks out Eric comes and sits next to my wrapping his arms round my waist I lean my head on his shoulder
"What you said, is it true" I asked he looked down at me ticking a stray hair behind my ear
"Of course it's true, I love you Chelsea more than anything in the world" I smile
"So you have a day off training and your gonna sit in your dads apartment" Eric says I smirk
"I was thinking of getting a tattoo" I say he smiles
"Of what" he asks curious
"I wasn't going to do it until after initiation but my dad knows now so I was thinking our initials in a heart" Eric smiles and kisses my head
"Let's go and I will get a matching one" Eric says I smile and hug him
"Great I've got and idea" we walk out the apartment and go to the tattoo shop
"YO TORI GET YO ASS OVER HERE" I shout Eric chuckles Tori walks over
"Hey CP long time no see how's initiation" she asks
"It's alright" I shrug "anyway tattoo now me and Eric" I order she raises an eyebrow at us "I'll explain in a minute" I say she nods and leads us through
"So what do you want" Tori asks
"E.C on the edge of my wrist in half a heart and C.P on the edge of Eric's wrist in the other half of the heart" I say her eyes pop out of her head and her jaw dropped
"You and...Eric...together" she says slowly as if registering it "God help dauntless" she mutters I chuckle so does Eric. Tori smiles at us and preps the station
"Who's first?" She asks Eric nods towards me
"Your idea" he smirks I roll my eyes I sit on the chair and place my wrist in the table Eric sits on a chair next to me while Tori gets to work we talk about random things Eric contributing here and there soon both tattoos are done we put our wrists together and smile even though we're in public Eric doesn't seem bothered about showing his soft side we pay and walk out our hands laced together. For once I was happy genuinely happy not fake happy and it felt nice.
