"So far away. There's a reason I feel this way." I sing along to 'Let Love Bleed Red' by Sleeping With Sirens, "Lay be down, tell me everything will be alright, things will be alright."
"You're good." Alex says, smiling at me from the passages seat of my car.
"Shit. I forgot you were there." I laugh, "Which turn?"
I try and take the attention off of my singing by asking for directions to his house.
"Left."
"Left."
"Right."
"Third house on the right."
"Yeah. That one."
I park my car in his driveway, "Need any help?"
"No but I don't want to make you wait in here, c'mon." He says, getting out of the car.
Laughing I lock the doors behind us and follow him into the house.
I notice him being very quiet about opening the door and decide to ask him about it.
"Alex I th-" I get cut off.
"Shh." He looks at me with a worried expression.
"I thought no one was home?" I whispered, carefully following him up the stairs.
"Nobody responsible. I'll explain once we get to my room." He replies, slowly walking down the hallway.
He suddenly stops in his tracks, causing me to bump into his back. He turns around and smiles before turning into a bedroom that I'm assuming is his.
Closing the door he says, "My dad is home."
I decide not to ask and that if he wants to tell me later, he can.
"Oh."
"Yeah. Let me grab some stuff, won't take long." He says, walking towards a closet.
--
"Fuck yeah!" Megan calls out, wrapping an arm around Skylar's shoulders.
Lindsey had suggested the famous 'Truth Or Dare', which we all agreed to pretty quickly. The seven of us, Jacob and Emma bailing, soon were gathered in a circle in the center of my bedroom floor.
"Anyone up to going first?" Ryan asked, making it clear he didn't want it to be him.
"Mm... I think Alex should go first." Thomas suggests, laughing as he lifted his head, eyes darting around.
"W-what?" He stuttered, nervous.
"Yeah," I teased, "he is new and all."
A chorus of agreements flooded over the group as Alex sighed, shooting daggers at Thomas and I with his green eyes.
"Fine!" He skimmed the circle, "Skylar. Truth or Dare?"
She let out a laugh, "Dare."
He paused, attempting to think of something worth wasting a turn over.
"I dare you to drink half a smoothie made with five ingredients of Megan and Lindsey's choice." He said, smirking.
A sigh escaped Skylar as she threw herself backwards to lay on the floor, "Meggie, Lindz, keep in mind I can take you both in a fight."
"Mmhmm. Sure. Whatever you say, Sky."
"Eww. Do I really have to drink this?" Skylar asked, holding the cup of mystery smoothie to her face.
"No. You have to chug it!" Thomas called.
Sky plugged her nose, tipping the cup, letting the liquid down her throat. She quickly finished half, throwing her open arm up in the air triumphantly.
"Now.. Ryan? T or D."
--
We played the game for a while longer, vowing only one more round several times.
"Last round, guys. For real!" I called out before letting Alex ask anyone.
He grinned, "Shann, T or D?"
I sighed, "Truth. I'm too fucking lazy for any real shit so make it easy."
"What do you think of me?" He asked, grin still plastered to his face.
"Adjective?"
"Yep."
"Uhh..." I struggled to come up with anything, "I guess you're kind of cute..."
He laughed, Ryan and Thomas chanting 'OTP' over and over.
