School was fun.

To say that Alex and I had made a little game out of our obvious feelings wasn't even close to being accurate.

I mean, don't get me wrong, we made a game out of it, just not a small one.

He would flirt with me, I would blushed and call him cute. I would make my feelings obvious and he would smile and start flirting.

It was an endless game. Who would confess first. It was quite fun.

Until friends caught on.

"Shannon?" Thomas randomly spoke up in a class I happened to have with him.

"Mm?" I hummed in response, glancing up at him, for he sat directly in front of me.

"You're dangling him around, 'ya know." His glare was fixated on the curly-haired boy who sat a few rows back, focused on his work, oblivious to the conversation taking place. It was actually quite adorable.

I smiled, "And who's to say he's not doing the same, Thomas?"

He glanced back at him once again, causing me to do the same.

"He really likes you."

"And I really like him."

-

Lunch wasn't as awkward as someone other than us would have made it.

We just kindly avoided conversation with the other. It wasn't like we were ignoring the other, I was just in a conversation with Skylar, Megan, Lindsey and Thomas while he spoke to Jacob, Ryan and Emma. It was normal.

"But I don't think he likes me." Lindsey had just finished giving us a slight description of a boy in her history class.

"Honestly," Thomas replied, "I think he does."

Even though the two had previously been involved in a relationship only days before, they still were best friends. They had kindly decided to cut if off after realizing that they still acted as friends, despite the fact that they were technically dating each other.

"Really?" She perked up slightly, clearly excited to hear our opinions.

"Yeah, I wo-" I was cut off.

"Oh, Linds, he does for sure. Trust me. I'm in that class." Alex spoke.

I could hear the smirk in his voice, it was as if he was trying to make me lose my mind.

"I agree." Skylar added, glancing over at Alex and I, attempting to end the awkward tension that, honestly, didn't exists.

After engaging in more random conversation, the bell rang and we went off to our usual classes.

-

"Um, okay... So... I was... I was thinking that I would let you guys have free time. Yeah. Yeah, free time." My science teacher stuttered before muttering something to himself awkwardly.

As soon as 'free time' came out of his mouth everyone stopped listening, and we all knew it.

In a few seconds I had my notebook open to some sheet music and lyrics that I had been working on.

'I know what I'm doing all hour.'

"Hey."

I was surprised when I heard someone talk, but wasn't surprised to see Sam standing in front of me.

I forced the notebook closed, "Hi."

He slid into the seat next to me, "What's up?"

'This awkward situation...' "Uh.... Nothing really. School." I fake laughed.

"Tell me about it."

I smiled, glancing at the closed book in front of me, hoping he'd get the hint.

He didn't.

-

"Fuck that must have been awkward." Lindsey replied.

I was driving her home, telling her the story about science.

"Yeah, it was. Not that bad though." I laughed, "How was your day?"

She let out a sharp breath, "That damn boy."

"History boy?"

"Yeah...." She sighed.

"Oh my god, Lindsey." I fake scolded her.

"I know! But I keep being tol-"

"That he likes you," I smile at her, "I know."

She laughs, "Yeah. I suppose it's pathetic, isn't it?"

"Not at all." I respond, "This turn?"

She nods, "How would you be able to judge whether it's pathetic or not?"

I raise my eyebrows at her, "Because I'm female and get crushes."

She laughs out loud for a second, "Yeah! But you only like someone if they like you first."

I gasp jokingly, "Not true!"

She lets out a giggle again, "Liar!"

"Name one!"

"Zeke, Austin, Ma-"

"Woah woah woah! I said one!" I laugh, making a sudden sharp turn, "oops."

"Whatever. I've proven my point." She replies, sounding rather smart-assy.

"Whatever," I sigh, "I don't like crushes. That's why I only tend to like people who like me back."

"You don't like crushes?" She gasps.

I snort, "Hell no! They are annoying!"

"True."

By now we had reached her house, "Wanna hang out for a while."

I just simply nodded, enjoying having a conversation with someone other than my family after school, and followed her inside.

Is this good for now? I'll write more later.... Oops... Haha
