After school Thomas grabbed my arm and yanked me from the classroom, running down the hallway, never releasing my arm.

"There!" He yelled, letting go of my arm before rushing down to the group of people that we call friends.

"Party, you say?" Megan said, Thomas having asked her before I had arrived only a few seconds after him, "I'm sure I can go."

"Great." Thomas replied, smile still as bright as this mornings.

"We'll see you around 5?" Skylar jumped in, leaning on Megan.

It was Lindsey's turn to input something into the conversation, "4:30."

Megan nodded before wrapping her arm around Skylar and walking out of the building.

"This'll be fun." Alex laughed, smiling at me.

"Yeah," I breathed, still out of breath from being dragged down the hall, "Fun."

Alex drops me off at my house around three thirty, giving me around forty five minutes to get ready.

I go straight up to my bathroom and clean my sloppy makeup off my face from that morning before throwing my hair up in a messy ponytail.

"This'll take some work." I sigh to myself, running my hand over my face.

I pull my makeup bag out from my drawer and start applying all sorts of random products onto my face and neck, hoping that it'll come out decent.

My new makeup consists of a light red and black smokey eye, barely noticeable unless you pay attention, and rather fake-looking eyelashes. I decided to pass on lipstick, not seeing a point as I put my makeup away and left the bathroom.

I glance into my full-length mirror, cringing at the mixture of slightly mature makeup and the huge t-shirt and leggings that was my outfit that day.

I had pulled open my closet in search of a new outfit when my phone rang from my backpack.

I sigh and walk over to the ringing bag on the floor, pulling my phone out from the front pocket. The screen lit up with Skylar's profile picture and contact name. My mind filling up with all the things that could be wrong I hit the green 'accept' button on the screen, putting the phone to my ear.

"Hey." I say, voice full of concern.

"Hi..." Skylar laughs, "What's up."

I smile a bit, "I dunno, you called, you tell me."

Walking back to my closet, I wait for a response from the girl on the other end of the phone.

"Nothing really, just wondering if I could catch a ride to Thomas'?" I can hear her biting her lip nervously through the phone and almost laugh out loud from picturing it.

"Course, Sky." I let out a very small laugh, "Meg too?"

She clears her throat, "She isn't coming."

"Oh." My smile falls, "How come?"

"Great question," Skylar sighs, "I'm not worried about it, see you in twenty?"

I glance at the clock, '4:03' lighting up the digital screen.

"Yup, I'll have Alex swing to get you before he gets me." I smile reassuringly, even though she can't see it.

"Bye."

With that the call ended, leaving me to get ready, yet again.

---

"Hey." I smile at Alex as I jump into the passengers seat of his car.
