Everyone begins to pace nervously around the room. The thought of a person you have known for almost your whole could possibly be dangerous would have anyone at the edge of their seat.
Amelia stops in the middle of her thought. "Wait a minute." Everyone stops and stares at her. "The voice said that he, or she, has other stuff hidden that we will find. What did he mean by that?"
"Who knows," Marcus replies. "Only time will tell until we find out."
"I doubt he would have not been scene without cameras being everywhere." I say pointing toward a camera in the cafeteria. Or at least where one used to be. Everyone gasps.
"The camera is... gone," Amelia obviously states.
"Jennifer, I want to look at the security feeds."
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that," she replies.
"Why not," I ask.
"No student is allowed to look at the security recording. Without authorization from Mr. Vanderbilt." Mr. Vanderbilt is the school's principle.
"Well I'm not a student anymore," I state.
"I guess you're right," Jennifer says. I follow her out into the hall.
"I'm coming with," Terry says.
Oh, great.
We arrive outside the office. I follow Jennifer into the office. "Stay out here," I instruct Terry.
"Why," he asks.
"I need you to stand guard in case there is someone dangerous is lurching around the school." I lied to him. I just don't want o be around him because every time he opens his mouth, I want to punch him.
Jennifer leads me to her computer. She logs in and I look at each feed. They are all the same. They all look like a television with no signal. There is nothing bit static.
"Something must be interfering with the signal," Jennifer concludes.
"Or," I begin. "All the cameras are gone. If the camera in the. Cafeteria is gone, maybe the rest are too. We should check the last few minutes all the cameras are working."
She nods and rewinds all the feeds. The feeds that are focused outside all come back into focus, then so does the one in the cafeteria. The time stamp is 8:00 pm. Around the the time our graduation ceremony ended. Suddenly, a masked figure steps into focus and looks directly into the camera. The figure is holding a long flexible staff. It looks like it is for pole vaulting. The figure swings a few times and knocks out the feeds. He does that for each camera. The last one is the one in the cafeteria.
Suddenly, a red liquid splashes onto the monitor. I jump back when I realize a knife is sticking out of Jennifer's throat. The knife is retracted, and Jennifer collapses on her desk. I look up to see the masked figure from the video, holding a sharp bloody knife. The knife that I think I saw on the kitchen counter.
