Lauren's POV
"Lauren Michelle, we need to talk. Now." My mom said, angrily.
I slowly stood up from the bed and followed my mom into the hallway.
"What do you think you're doing?" My mom asked.
"Well, I was kissing Camila-" I started to say, but she cut me off.
"Kissing? That looked a lot more than kissing, Lauren.""Okay, so I was making out with her. I don't see the problem." I said.
"The problem is that you didn't tell me that you were gay."
"I'm not gay," I said.
"Oh, really? Then what was that back there?" My mom questioned.
"I don't know, okay. I'm confused." I said.
My mom sighed.
"Whatever you say. But don't do, you know, that here. Okay?"
I chuckled.
"Yeah, okay." I said.
"You know I love you, no matter what, right?" My mom asked as she placed her hand on my shoulder.
"If you like a guy, great. If you like a girl, great. I can't tell you who you can and can't love, Lauren."
I nodded.
"If you ever need to talk about your feelings, then you can always come to me." My mom reassured.
I nodded again.
"Thank you. Now can I go back in my room now?" I asked.
"Yes, but don't-"
"I know." I said, rolling my eyes.
I turned around and opened the door.
"Hey, sorry about that. I didn't think that would happen but-" I stopped talking once I noticed that Shawn was sitting next to Camila.
Shawn and I made eye contact.
He looked... nervous? Why was he nervous?
"You know, I think I should go now." Shawn said, standing up quickly.
"Bye, Mila." Shawn said, waving awkwardly then walked out.
Once he closed the door, I shook my head and sat next to Camila on the bed.
"What's up with him?" I asked.
"He's just.... upset that I won't go out with him." Camila explained.
"Why does he keep trying when he knows that you're gonna say no?"
"I don't know." Camila shrugged.
"Anyway, did you get in trouble?""Surprisingly, no. I told her that I was confused about my feelings and she understood that." I answered.
"That's good." Camila said.
"Yeah. J just don't know how my dad or my siblings will react."
"React to what?" Camila asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
"To me having possible feelings for you. A girl." I replied.
"Wait, so you don't have feelings for me?"
"I-I don't know. I might." I stuttered.
"Lauren, we've kissed twice. And I've only been here for, what, three days?" Camila stated.
"I thought you had feelings for me, Lauren."
"I-I do. At least, I think I do." I said uncertainly.
"Lauren, you're confusing me. First, you allow me to kiss you. Then the next day, you kiss me. And now you're saying that you don't know if you have feelings for me?"
"Camz, look, I'm sorry. I'm just so confused-"
"Stop. I don't wanna hear anymore. Text me when you know what you want." Camila said as she stood up and opened the door.
"You're leaving?" I asked.
"Yep," Camila said, slamming the door shut.
I groaned and fell back on my bed.
"Well, that went well." I said sarcastically.
