Stephanie and I had been together for about a week now, both of us constantly moving closer and closer towards eachother. We'd barely had to go on runs, and they were mostly eventless, almost like Zombies had disappeared. We were sitting at the compound, when we heard a gunshot outside and a man's voice yell "Alright, we know you're in there, come on out!". So she went up to the roof with the Rifle we recently found at a Griggs, while I went outside. The men were all pointing guns at me, and I watched a few of them check their ammo. I waved at them, and they all got picked off by Stephanie, one by one. I walked over to their bodies and grabbed their guns, ammo, and supplies.

Stephanie came down to the lower floors, and was crying. "What's wrong beautiful?" I asked. "Those were the men that killed my family..." She whispered out, barely able to speak. I walked up to her and hugged her close, and sat her down and held her until she fell asleep. I waited for the bodies to drain of blood, and began to toss the bodies into a pile to burn. It was hard work, all of the men had full builds. Afterwards, I started to hear a moaning sound, like a zombie, so I went to investigate. I walked up to the top of the compound and saw my worst nightmare- a Herd. A large collection of zombies, anywhere from 500-1000, all in a group, going after any sound they hear that is abnormal. One hears a sound, and they all begin to follow it. Most of them forget what they heard, but stay together because they're simply following the other zombies. I grabbed Stephanie and as much food as I could get and headed up to the roof and locked ourselves with a few boards from our construction section that we grabbed to barricade off more of the city.

We waited for what seemed like years on that roof, when the moaning finally subsided. We started to pack up, and I looked off the roof and all of them were gone. We went downstairs, to the second floor of the compound, when I started to smell something strange. "Go back to the roof, I'll be right back." I said to her, and she listened. I went downstairs and saw at least 7 of them downstairs, but I couldn't shoot them for fear of the Herd hearing me. I whisteled to the zombies, and they started to come upstairs, and I started to get ready for what was coming up those stairs.
