"Good morning sunshine," Bryce said cheerfully as I approached his table. I slammed my plate of greasy bacon and biscuits down on the table, and flopped down into the chair across from him.
"Man, you look awful," Tyler added, looking at me while sitting next to me.
I was on my last nerve with him, and that little comment really is not helping his case. Last night was just awful for me because I got little to no sleep. My mind was racing about Connor and what he said about seeing me die, and I was so flipping angry that Tyler was sticking up for-
"Hey babe!" Britt exclaimed as she squeezed herself between Tyler and I. There was no room there to begin with so I literally fell down off of the bench at how hard she came in.
"You okay?" Bryce asked getting up and running over to the other side of the table and kneeling down. He offered his hand to me and I took it as he helped me up. Sitting back down, Britt looked over at me and gave me the nastiest look possible.
"How has your day been?" Tyler asked Britt, and the nasty look left her face and was replaced with a sweet, fake smile.
"Great, now that I am with you," she answered him, leaning forward and kissing him on the lips.
I started choking on my bacon at their sudden PDA, earning me stares from the three people at the table.
"You good?" Tyler asks.
"Yeah," I answer, just wanting to keep my breakfast in my stomach and not making a return.
The lovey dovey couple went to their own conversation while Bryce and I continued to eat our food. Across the room, I saw a familiar black beanie and realized it was Connor getting food in the lunch line.
This time I did not approach him, but just watched him and his body language. He looked liked he was dragging himself wherever he went.
"He has been like Eeyore recently," Tyler explains to me, his eyes glued to me. I turned to my left to look back at him.
"I wonder why..." I mumbled as I turned my attention to Connor as he slowly moved through the breakfast line and then turned around and left the cafeteria with his plate of food.
"I thought you would know, actually," Tyler adds in, making my head snap towards him in surprise.
"And why would you think that?" I asked, resting my chin on my hand. He had a smirk plastered across his face in amusement, and I wondered what could have been going through his mind.
"You both are together all of the time," he says raising his eyebrows at me, making me want to punch him in the face.
My jaw tightened before I answered him, "I actually have not talked to him in a few days, so why do you think he is acting like that? He is your roommate and all. You see him everyday."
The table went quiet, as Tyler starred back at me with a peeved expression. Britt was looking at me like she could pounce on me at any minute, and Bryce continually looked up as he ate.
"He hasn't been at our dorm for the past couple of days," Bryce adds in to the conversation making everyone avert their attention towards him.
"Where has he been then?" I asked, starting to get concerned about Connor. Something seems very wrong with him, and it is worrying me.
"I don't know," Bryce answers me, shrugging his shoulders. "He only goes to his classes and then he disappears."
"Does he have his license?" I ask, and try to ignore the death glare that Britt has been giving me since I snapped at Tyler.
