What is it like from going to a simple public school to a snobby academy? Well it sucks. I had been attending Lincoln Middle School since I was in sixth grade, and when I graduated from there I moved on to the Lincoln High School. Keyword 'had' attended. I was in my sophomore year in high school when me and my friend Bryce had been called to the principal's office. We went in and our principal had said that every year for the sophomores they do a drawing for one girl and one boy to have the rest of their high school year at Freemont Academy. Which in other words is the snobbiest school in the state of California. So my principal had said that Bryce and I had won.

"Do we have to accept the offer?" I ask.

"No, but it is advised," said my principal.

So here is Bryce and I in the plane heading over to California. We had talked about it together and if one of us went the other would go. Bryce and I have been friends for a while, but we weren't like those really close friends. We had packed up all of our stuff so we could live in the houses they had at the academy. Yeah, you get to live there for high school. I'm sort of excited, but another part of me is terrified to go.

"I don't want to go to this stupid academy," I say looking out the window. The flight attendant said that we would land in five minutes.

"Don't be so negative," says Bryce. "This might be fun."

"Do you realize that that whole academy is filled with snobby rich people and we are going to be surrounded by them?" I say.

"Not all of them are so bad," he says. I shrug my shoulders and I feel the plane land. We grab our stuff and get a cab. Bryce gives the driver the address of the school and we get there in five minutes. When we get out there are a group of guys in uniforms walking by. When I reach over to grab my bag from the trunk I hear one of the guys whistle. I roll my eyes and ignore them.

"The guy on the phone said to meet him at the main building," says Bryce as we walk past the group of guys and trudge our stuff behind us.

"Does he realize how many buildings there are?" I ask. "He expects us to just know where it is?"

"It's the one with a blue eagle on the sides," he says nodding his head in front of us. We both walk in and there is a woman at the front desk.

"Welcome to Freemont Academy," she says in a chipper voice. "What do you need?"

"Um we are new students here," says Bryce.

She smiles at him. "What are your names?"

"Bryce Hayes and Haley Morgan," he says. She starts typing things on her keyboard and looks back up.

"Mr. Hayes you are in dorm 201, and Haley you are in dorm 183," she says handing us two different keys. We start walking down the hallways and we both stop at my dorm.

"This sucks," I say staring at the black door in front of me.

"Hey, it might not be that bad," says Bryce. "I'll come over here when I'm done unpacking."

"Okay," I say nodding my head and sticking my key in the door. I open it and see a girl looking out a window on her phone.

"I can't believe that Damian did that," she says. I roll my eyes. Great, my roommate is probably the queen bee who loves to gossip. She didn't hear me come in so I cough. She turns around and looks at me.

"I have to go," she says into the phone and hangs up. "Who are you?"

"I'm Haley, also known as your new roommate," I say.
