Nick & Carla one shots

2 Weeks off

Nick and carla had been out for a very 'Nice Lunch', it included a lovely cafe, some alone time together, talk about the factory and bistro, some sex and declaring there undying love for each other. After lunch Carla had to return to work, she was surprisingly calm after what johnny and Aidan had done while she was away. They had decided it would be ok to order some cheap material for the girls to work with but as Carla is well aware, considering her experience, cheap material is a definate NO. Aidan was worried as to how Carla would react seeing as she can lose her temper at the smallest things. Carla however wasnt happy but she was calm, she'd had a 'nice lunch' so was chill with it all. She gave Aidan a quick smile to reassure him everything was fine.

Nick picked up his phone and texted Carla.

To: My Angel Carla
Hey sweetheart, ive just taken the next 2 weeks off work,
was thinking maybe you could too? will be worth it ;) x

within 5 minutes of Nicks text, Carla replied

To: Nicholas
oh baby really? im sure i can seeing as im the boss ;)
will come see you after work ok x

Carla smiled to herself, she hadnt felt this loved since about mid 2013, thats when Peter actually took the time out of his day to give her a kiss or tell her he loved her. She never once thought that by the end of 2014 she wouldve lost one of her best friends, her husband, her baby and her brother. She never thought she would get over the loss of peter and her baby, the baby she grew to love, but Nick, Nick made her feel like she was important in her life, like she was wanted. Everyday after work she was excited to see him, she would kiss him like it was the last time she ever would. Her stomach filled with excitement as it was getting closer and closer to the time she would be walking in those bistro doors to see him.

5:30pm-
Carla grabbed her bag and stoodup from her chair almost tipping the it over in the process.
"oh off she goes, off to see your boyfriend are you? you must be because the only time i ever see you move that fast is when your off to see Nick" Aidan smirked. "yes Aidan i am, oh i forgot to say, im taking the next 2 weeks off, so i wont be in at all, you'll have to manage yourself ok?" Carla added. "Oh well I'm guessing your spending that time with Nick?" Aidan asked feeling a little left in the dark. "That doesn't concern you" she said while giving him a glare. Carla walked towards the door, she couldn't wait to get out of this place, she felt suffocated, there were to many people in that office now days. Carla never really liked Johnny but she knew that he was here to help, well in a way. "Bye then" Aidan called out to her as she was leaving. "goodbye Aidan" she shouted from the other side of the fcatory. As she stepped out onto the cobbles she felt the breeze against her face and skin, she felt free, no Aidan, Johnny, Kate or staff for a whole week, Bliss, she thought to herself.

She pushed her hands against the bistro doors revealing the foyer, it was warm in there, unlike outside which was damp and breezy. As she walked into the Bistro she saw how busy it was and wondered wether it was a good idea for Nick to have taken a whole week off to spend it with her. She walked up to the bar and sat down on one of the unoccupied stools, placed her bag onto the counter and ran her fingers through her hair while crossing her legs under the bar. It had been 2 minutes since she had arrived and still no sign of Nick.
Carla gave the room a quick once over with her eyes just to see if he was serving people. Thats when she saw him, across the other side of the bistro taking Kirk and Beth's order. She could see that Kirk was being his usual self going on about stuff that really was of no interest to Nick what so ever. Nick turned around and rolled his eyes at what he had just had to listen to. Carla was about to turn around when she seen Nick smile at her. She returned it and then turned around in her chair so she was facing the bar. "Hey Baby" Nick said while leaning across the bar counter to give her a kiss. Their lips connected and they both relaxed into it. They pulled apart and both Nick and Carla were biting their lips. "hey" Carla whispered while smiling and looking into his eyes. "so have you got 2 weeks off work then?" he said while placing her hand in his. "sure do Nicholas" she laughed while squeezing his hand. "good because I've booked a surprise getaway for us" he smirked. Carla froze, she was not expecting him to have already booked something, she could never get over how organised and caring he was. "are you going to say anything" laughed Nick. She unfroze herself and realised this was no dream, Nick had actually done this for the two of them. "are you serious Nick, You've actually booked for us to go away from damp old Weatherfield for a 2 weeks?" Carla asked. it was a well deserved break as well according to Nick. "Yes i have, i thought after you having to put up with Johnny and kate for the past few weeks, it was more than deserved." he said to her. Carla was just grinning, she couldn't understand how she had scored such a perfect man. "so where are we going?" Carla asked. "are you sure you want me to tell you?" Nick asked smirking. Carla thought it would be to Blackpool or somewhere close but no, it was far from here, somewhere where carla has been before, and in her mind, she wasn't sure if she ever wanted to return.
