Chapter 9 "Curiosity"

"I can't believe you didn't tell me!"
Dipper exaggerated,pacing the room back and fourth.

Looking down,you felt a little bit of guilt eat away at you.

"Do you even know what this means!?" He added,looking at you angrily.

Looking up,you're eyes were still watery,making his expression change to a more calming one.

"Why didn't you mention something- anything?"

"I-"

"I mean he could've harmed you in any way,o-or stolen your memory!"

"Wait-"

"I mean did you not-"

"Dipper!"

He stopped his rambling,looking at Mabel in confusion and shock.

"Let (y/n) speak."she spoke softly, smiling at you with a gentile smile."I'm sure she has a good reason."

Gulping,your brain scattered around to find the right words to say.

"Yes,I did meet him.I didn't make a deal with him however.He tempted me but I resisted.He did not harm me though." You lied through your teeth.

"Is this the only occurrence?"Dipper questioned.

"N-No."You blurted out.

He nodded his head,as if knowing that would be your response.Mabel looked at you concerned.

"What!?"She asked speechless.

"I met him when I had the journal.I feel guilty for lying about it to you guys though.I'm sorry."

Mabel hugged you tightly,while Dipper just smiled.

"I forgive you bestie!"She whispered.

"I figured."Dipper mumbled.

Sighing,he pointed at your hand again. "Then explain the mark."

"What?"

"If you claim that you didn't make a deal then why does that mark say other wise?"

Pausing,you gulped down any pride that was left within you,and frowned.

"Because I went back on a deal.Thats all."You nervously spoke.

They both starred at you,as if they wanted to hear more.You quietly sat up, glancing at both of them.You lifted your hand onto your forehead,feeling bandages wrapped around.

You smiled,looking back down onto the wooden floor.

"Your head was bandaged when we found you lying unconscious in the forest."Dipper explained.

"Thanks."You replied softly.You walked towards the door,not even bothering to close it behind you.

You lied on the couch,starring up at the ceiling.Thinking about it,they must've carried you back to their place. Realizing that,made you smile a bit.

"Eh uh,you okay dude?"

You turned to your left to see Soos standing there worriedly.You sat up, smiling at him.

"I'm fine."You replied,as his expression changed to a more subtle one.

"If you say so dude-"He paused, squinting at you."Are those,bandages?"

He put his hand on your forehead,as his expression went back to worried.

"Geez.You must a got hurt badly."He added.

"Ya.So bad I was bleeding."You joked, laughing awkwardly.

He starred at you confused,as you quietly shut upped.

"Sorry."You whispered,as he pat your head.

"Get better soon dude.Summer's still around ya know."He spoke,before heading off into another room.

Sitting there,you could hear the sound of footsteps creaking down the stairs. Mabel and Dipper peeked around the corner,starring back at you.Their faces did not seem pleasant.

"So um...we've decided-"

"That it'd be best if you didn't leave the shack.Or possibly go home."Dipper interrupted.

You looked at them shocked."What!? Leave?Are you nuts!?"

"Well we just don't want you to get harmed again like you did.It might be worse and more critical next time." Dipper added.

"We're sorry (y/n)..."Mabel whispered.

You gripped your fists once more, feeling determination hit you."Well I'm not leaving!"

"Then you'll stay in here."Dipper asked.

"That's fine with me."You answered back.

Both of you shook on it,making the deal official.

"Great.Then you're staying in here till we know you'll be safe."Dipper answered out of breath.

You all started to laugh together.

Today is also grade 8 orientation day at my school
