-A few weeks later-

Excited Luna sat on her bed seeing it was the start of her birthday week and she was going to be 17 on Friday. Which was a very big deal to her since she never really celebrated her birthdays only small little things with her brother and Matthew. But her mother promised an amazing birthday dinner for her and Lane.

Which Lane, Matthew, Samantha, Jack, Jude and her mother would be attending and she was okay with that at least she was spending it with the ones her love her a lot. Even Matthew; she had told herself that although the feelings were there it was never going to happen and it was best they'd stay friends and stop the drama since that night Matthew had picked her up they'd been on a friendship level; Lane and Luna back to their normal selves.

She got ready quickly and left her room running down the stairs and bumping into Matthew on the way down literally..."oh I was just looking for you?" Matthew said, scratching the back of his neck feeling a little awkward.

"Come here" he said, flashing her a smile and grabbing her tiny wrist and pulling her into the kitchen. "What is it, Matthew" Luna groaned, slipping her wrist out of Matthew's grip.

"so, I was thinking I could take you out to dinner tonight" He mumbled, again scratching his neck. Luna went to speak but Matthew cut her off. "-of course as friends; for your birthday. I want to give you your own present separate from Lane's" he rambled, making Luna laugh.

"Matthew calm down, I'll go. We are friends" she said, smiling wide at him. "Friends of course" Matthew mumbled, frowning a little but making sure Luna didn't see his disappointment.

Matthew never fully got to explain himself after everything that happened between Luna and himself so she never understood but his actual feelings for her never went away and they just sat there.

"I'll see you after school, Jack promised me he'd take me to school today since he's been at practice all week" Luna told Matthew, she planted a kiss on his cheek and walked out the door.

Matthew's cheeks flushed and turned bright red at the fact that Luna had kissed his cheek; it had been awhile since she'd even made eye-contact with him or even any kind of contact. It felt foreign but good at the same time ...comforting.

"Dude what's up with you?" Lane laughed, shoving Matthew playfully as he walked by him.

"I-uh kind of asked Luna out on a birthday dinner tonight" He said, clearing his throat and rubbing his neck a little nervous.

Lane shrugged and patted him on the back "cool bro, congrats" He said walking past him. Matthew gave him a weird look excepting to get hit or argue about it but a 'congrats'?

"Woah bro are you like okay?" Matthew asked, walking after his best friend.

Lane shrugged "I mean i could waist my breath and be upset or I can say it is what it is and except things for what they are. It's whatever now bro; I'm not going to fight with you or my sister about something pointless anymore. Like I told you before I was out of line that day" he said, shrugging.

"Oh..well thanks bro" Matthew smiled, still a little confused. "But-I'll still kick your ass if you hurt her" he whispered walking past him.

"She doesn't like me bro, it's as friends" Matthew said, walking with him towards Lane's car. Lane stared at him and laughed really hard "yeah right, but forget that" Lane said, before getting into the car.

Jack and Luna drove to Luna's school while listening to their favorite song by Halsey 'Colors' belting the lyrics loudly and laughing at each other.

Jack turned down the radio as he pulled in to her school parking lot since he didn't go here he had to slightly hurry to not be late to his own class.

Jack cleared his throat awkwardly and looked over at Luna who was already staring at him with a sheepish smile. He gave her a wide smile feeling his heart rate speed up a little.

"soo..." He laughed, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. "Soo" she mocked, laughing at his awkwardness.

"Oh my god" he mumbled, before sliding over and planting his lips right on to Luna's. Luna's eye were wide in shock at first but she realized what was going on and kissed Jack before had pulled away.

She placed her hands on the back of his neck and pulled him closer to her. When they heard her school bell ring their lips departed, their eyes made contact and a smile was placed on their lips.

"Wow" she muttered, "wow is right" he laughed. "I uh right yes Luna I wanted to know if you would uh maybe be my girlfriend-I mean if you don't want to I'm totally fine being you friend and being in-"

"Jack calm down I'd be honored to be your girlfriend" Luna said, laughing at Jack's excessive rambling.

He smiled happily "okay now go to class before you get into anymore trouble" Jack told her, unlocking the car for her to get out.

She pecked him on the lips "I'll call you when I'm out to pick me up" and then walked into school getting a late pass.

Luna walked into the class and handed the late pass to the teacher "go sit with Lane and Matthew and finish the project" The teacher instructed.

Luna walked to the back where Lane and Matthew normally sat. "Why are you late?" Matthew asked, seeing it was never like Luna to be late for any class.

She hated being late it was like an anxiety kicker.

"I was with jack" she smiled, remembering their little moment in the car. "Oh" Matthew muttered, looking down and continued to write.

Matthew wasn't stupid he in fact knew exactly what was going on. The smile on her face and how swollen her lips were he knew she had been kissing...Jack.

Breaking his heart a little? Yes because he couldn't deny the fact that his feelings for Luna were growing more and more. And he couldn't push the feeling aside that he wanted to be make things up and make everything better but he knew that wasn't possible now.

All Matthew could do now is give up.

Poor matty 😪 but what about Lack I just decided to give the people what they want and do this.

Should Matthew give up and let Lack have a chance or should he still try to get Luna ??

I also got my tongue pierced yesterday; I have a speech problem now and I can't eat. I really hope it's worth it!!
