A/N After a while of debate, I've decided to start off this chapter from Faylinn's eyes, this will be one of the onlytimes I do this.
All I wanted to spend time with my brother, was that too much to ask?
He told me to run and hide as he hid behind a bookcase, ready to fight. I ran to the end of the building and hid under a desk, clutching the yellow tome like it was- no it is my lifeline. I peeked out of my hiding spot to see Mr. Amzulious running inside with a sword in his hand, he noticed me and signaled for me to get to him. I adjusted my hat and carefully crawled over in his direction, stopping to hide again as a man with a big axe was attacking him.
"There's a damn mage over here!" I heard a gruff voice yell. Panicking, I ran away throwing a spark from the tome around him, feeling tired soon after. He swung his axe down at me which I was lucky to dodge and hit him with another bolt from the tome. "Get back here you little bitch!" he grabbed my leg and I screamed as I hit the ground. I crawled backwards feeling more the tome, clutching it to my chest as the man tried to hit me with his axe again. I concentrated and shrieked "Thunder!".
Arcs of lightning bolted up his axe and rested as they reached his head, I almost celebrated my victory until the insides of his head exploded over me, soaking me in blood. I was mortified, I just took a life, I didn't mean to! I only meant to knock him out or something! I turned my head to see Reflet fall to the ground and a fist coming at me.
Hours later from Reflet's POV
"And did the Amzulious bastard get away?" I could barely make out the sentences I could hear. "Hey, he's waking up!" I heard the cutting of flesh and saw a clear body fall in front of me. I jolted up with fear in my eyes. "Where the hell is Faylinn?!" I shouted at my captors. "That little mage bitch? She's in the middle of an interrogation. Why? She mean something to you?"
I clenched my jaw shut before I could say stupid. If these bastards are like the ones in Drachen, she's going through too much. The other guards walked off, leaving two at each side of the cage door. I looked around my cell, nothing but a bucket and a mattress, I looked down to see my legs were chained to the middle of the room. Getting out will take a while.
Some More Hours later
The guard count dropped to one around midnight. Time to get to work. I got as far away from the door as I could and bent over, sticking two fingers down my throat making me gag. I would've grinned at the sound of locks unlocking if I wasn't forcefully vomiting. The second the guard came to check on me, I used my legs to wrap the chain around his neck and spun around, snapping his neck without a scream. As he hit the ground, I took the keys from his belt and took his hatchet. After unlocking my leg shackle, I hefted the hatchet and carefully crept toward the hallway leading away.
These guards are worse than the ones in Drachen, I didn't think they would fall for that.
I crept around the halls for a while taking many twists and turns going up and down stair, clutching the small axe in my hand. I suddenly ducked behind a wall as someone was coming closer in my direction. I used the metal on the axe to look around the corner, just another guard with a greatsword. I waited until he was around the corner until I leapt out and drove the axe through his neck. As the blood splattered all over me, I felt a sudden pleasure in killing him watching him twitch for mercy. I started laughing as I kept bringing down the hatchet on his lifeless body. More...you want more don't you? You WANT to kill these fuckers. Go ahead, nothing will stop you.
The voice was right, no one can stop me, I love this feeling. All I can remember was running faster through the maze of tunnels bringing down anyone in my way. And then I found her, Faylinn was strapped to a table, a tray of tools next to her and a torturer grinning at the sight of her soon to be harmed exposed flesh.
I started laughing at his face before the axe entered his cranium. More, more, more, more, there is never enough!I suddenly felt a tugging sensation behind me and almost forced the axe through Faylinn's head. "Please Reflet, no more, you're scaring me. You're supposed to be my brother and protect me." She's right, what the hell am I doing? And how did I let this happen?
I dropped the axe and knelt down next to her, "I'm sorry my little rose, I don't know what happened. You're right, I'm supposed to protect you. Like I promised your parents," I looked at the remains of the torturer and felt my stomach do flips.Did I really do this? I grabbed Faylinn's hand and let her up as many staircases as I could, my branded hand was burning and my right eye was doing the same.
I managed to lead her above ground without getting caught after an hour of wandering, we were under a camp in some ruins, I told Fay to hide and followed a lightly armored soldier, I eventually led him into an abandoned tent and knocked him unconscious. Carefully and silently, I took his broadsword and ran back to Fay as fast as I could.
As an arrow flew past my head, I stopped dead in my tracks. I looked in the general direction where it came from to see multiple flashes of yellow flew away from the tree line. I took the arrow and turned to the corner to see Faylinn with a soldier in leather armor and yellow cape. "Back the hell away from her." I growled at the soldier who pulled out his sword. "Why? So you can treat her as your plaything? An instrument of painful torture? No, I don't think I will." I threw the arrow as hard as I could at the sudden adversary who caught it expertly.
"Even without a ranged weapon, you manage well." I kept silent and rushed forward with the broadsword, catching him off guard. He shoved Faylinn away and pulled out a bow to block the swipe, I kneed his gut as hard as I could "Anyone who stands in my way of protecting her will suffer the same fate." He fell to the ground and pulled out a large knife to block my next swing, if a greatsword hadn't blocked my swipe and I hadn't gotten an armored foot to the gut, sending me flying into some barrels.
This new fighter was wearing a wolf shaped helm in some heavy steel armor with a large red cape silently flowing behind him. I could hear new battles being started. I could feel tears streaming out of my burning eye. "All I wanted, was to live a happy life. And because of what happened in Drachen, I've been constantly hunted. So tell me, who are you and what do you want with me?" The wolf helmed warrior stayed silent for a while, then spoke carefully "Loose." an arrow storm flew all around me and struck many crazed Drachen soldiers that I never noticed, Faylinn ran over and hid behind my opponents as the soldier that had grabbed her fell to the ground."Scales, please stop. They want to take me home and kill the one who kidnapped me."
A voice spoke from behind me. "Which they are attempting." I turned to receive a punch to the ribs and was thrown to the side. "Vex, that was uncalled for, we don't even know if that was him." I coughed up blood and mucus and stood up before falling to the ground. "Watch and learn Lance, maybe your weak ass recruits will learn to kill without hesitation."
"Do you want my help now?" The voice said in my head.
I carefully nodded, No one will take my sister from me.
I held my branded hand over my red eye and let insanity take over, just this once.
At first nothing happened, then my skin felt piercing on every inch and my back felt like my shoulderblades were going to pop out. I took a look at my arm and screamed, scales were poking themselves out of my skin. I could hear Vex in the back "But, it wasn't like that before, they should be extinct!"
As the pain and strange glow from my brand stopped, I looked at my body it had become a demonic white dragon complete with four legs, clawed hands and back hooves, spiked tail and antlers designed for combat.
