Before I could say anything to Faylinn, I was shoved to my knees by two of her soldiers, my new blade taken. She seemed pleased with the actions that were taking place. "I'm sorrybrother. But this needs to be done, I can't let you roam free with the fact that you are still a rampant beast." I tried struggling against the soldiers and found that they had bound my hands behind my back. Shuji ran forward with his naginata in hand before he was blasted backwards with a bolt of lightning from Elize. I turned to Elize who sat atop her horse, a tome in hand. "Am I correct to say that this is your declaration of war then?" I yelled at her.
She gave a small smile, "Take his sister too." To Faylinn's surprise, they had already bound her hands and took her sword. "Elize! This is not what we agreed!" She yelled as Elize ordered a volley of arrow to fall upon Maekalythian soldiers. Soldiers took us both and dragged us into a prisoner's cage, that was clearly meant for the dragon, as Lance and Shuji ordered their soldiers to strike...each other. "This is a price you must pay for all the crimes you've committed, Beast." One of the soldiers told me with hatred in his voice. I looked at Faylinn and she shot her eyes to the ground. "This wasn't what I agreed to with her. She said- and I trusted her!" She screamed.
A soldier grabbed me by the hair and drew slight cuts over my face as Faylinn screamed at him to stop "One for each shield brother you killed today." he said. I instinctively turned my head to the side, bit down, and spat out what looked like a finger. I reached back to grab the knife or keys if he had any. He ended up slamming me against the bars a few times before throwing me to the center of the cage. Faylinn crept towards me and wiped up as much blood as she could. She gestured to one over my red eye, "This one will scar, badly." I had sprouted claws and cut my binds and shoved it through the guard's head. His friends ran off to get help.
I reluctantly cut Faylinn's as I prepared to cut the bars. "Give me a reason to take you with me." I told her as I concentrated. She was silent as I quickly cut a hole for us to crawl out through. I snuck up behind the guard who was examining the katana as it blinded him when he unsheathed it, leaving an opening for me to strike him over the head. "Strong object this sword, thank you father." I crawled through the hole and kept the sword at the ready. "Someone desperately wants this war." Faylinn muttered "Someone who knows about you. I must've been wrong to trust them." I shook her words off. I can't trust her, the little rose that I took care of and sent away for her safety.
My beloved sister is dead, and in her place is a soldier bred solely for combat.
"Where are you going?" Faylinn whispered to me as I crept off. "Home, the place where this war is starting." She rolled her eyes and followed close behind. I could see the battlefield getting close and arrows nearly hitting us became more frequent. "The pegasi, use them to get back in there." Faylinn muttered. I looked to the sky, sure enough, pegasus fighters were diving in and out. I looked back at her and pulled her away to a place where we'd be hidden, I know that it really exists.
We came upon the lake that I'd seen in the nightmare days ago. "What happened to you?" I asked her, "We spend so long trying to find each other and you attempt to imprison me? In the name of the country that hated me for so long as well." She looked at me with pleading eyes "You need to go back to the battle." she said quietly, "Before I am asked to kill you." I didn't move an inch.
"I could ask you the same question." she said. "I hoped that you would come get me for so long. That we could go be adventurers together." She shuffled a bit, opening the satchel she had at her side. "When I find you, you look more like a warmonger than a peace lover. Your eyes full of strength, your hair turned white in front of me, and carrying weapons as you hide armies from us. I grew up, that's what happened to me. I was stuck in a place I could not escape from, forced to betray the land to try and meet you. But now, I regret coming out here." She threw something at me and started storming off. "Speak to me when you wish to be the older brother I remember again."
