A/N Sorry guys! I hit writer's block for a while! I did intend to have a new chapter about a week ago. Unfortunately, this may be the last time we see Faylinn until the future, but don't worry! I have a plan to bring her back in either the best or worst way possible, ENJOY!!!
Poor Faylinn, she must be awake by now and scared about where I am. My arms were starting to hurt as I hung from the feet of a large raven. I looked up at the one carrying me "How long until we get there?" I asked as I looked below me to see the trees pass very nearly below me. "About a few minutes, now listen kid this place has a population majority of shifters. Since you can't control yourself in your rare form you should avoid getting in people's way." I looked ahead to see a column of smoke rising into the sky.
"What the hell?" I thought aloud. They dropped me into a nearby oak tree and followed suit, "I guess what is left of Drachen's previous army. They've been pestering us about a dragon shifter taking down one of their main camps." I gulped "So you plan to trade me off for your own safety, pretty cowardly." He seemed to glare at me "What would you have us do? Most of us can be shot down and the rest could be burned to death, what do you think?"
Without thinking, I jumped out of the tree and put on my helmet. "Hey kid! Let us deliver you! Maybe then we can strike a deal with em or something." I could tell they knew I was glaring at them "Pretending to do a noble act for others but instead for your own gain is not acceptable, not to me anyway. If you have any sense, you will let me do as I will, understood?"
I turned quickly, not waiting for an answer and walked into the small burning village. I could see the soldiers herding shift-people together in the village square. They mean to burn them! I told myself Do something! All of a sudden I could see a fox child screaming as he was being pulled from his hiding place and away from his mother. Not caring about any plans or anything, I let momentum carry me as I ran forward, broke the soldier's arm, and bashed his head to the wall. "Listen, I would have just solved this peacefully but harming children is the one of the only things I do not tolerate." I threw him against the wall once more and let him curl up and whine about his arm.
The child had run back to his mother who led him farther away. I turned to see a soldier blow a horn and another fumbling for his weapon. I smirked and bolted forward as I swept one off his feet and palm struck the other, sending him flying. Where did this power come from? I looked at my palm to see scales slowly turning back into skin. I shook the idea of turning into a beast again out of my head and ran for the square.
As they were alerted, I took out my tome and flicked random scales onto the ground as I ran past each soldier. I finally stopped in front of the people and turned to have an array of arrows knock my helmet off to reveal my face. "Th-that's him! We need backup!" I threw my tome into the air and threw a handful of scales at it.
Please work how I guessed it would.
To my satisfaction, pillars of blue and white flame blew into the air where each scale on the ground was. I then shouted to the remaining soldiers who were trying to find away out of the maze of flames. "This and many other places are under my protection! I don't care if it kills me, but I will eliminate anyone who belongs to Drachen and harms others to find me."
I turned around and led the people to their homes as the flames died down. I sat back down in the square, trying not to pass out. My lungs were swollen, making it hard for me to breath. Not to mention all the breath and energy I lost for destroying my tome to pull off the last attack.
The raven shifters walked up to me acting like they were tired, "Don't start featherheads, you didn't do shit to help." Their leader backed away carefully "But you were amazing! We could barely keep up, with you in our gang-" He stopped short as I grabbed him by his garments and lifted him in the air,
"I don't care who you are or about your silly group, I have no intent to use my abilities for money, unlike you mine are a curse, as in mass murderer and something tells me you don't want that on your side. Now get the fuck away from me." I dropped him and he scrambled away with his flock in pursuit. I turned to look at the other beast shifters find their family members after all the chaos I caused. I couldn't help but smile as a little girl hugged her father, No, don't look, you'll be reminded of Faylinn.
Faylinn
I woke up in the carriage with a sore on my head and the girl from before keeping a watchful eye on me. "Are you okay? I told you not to pick up the sword, it's not very ladylike." I sat up rubbing my head and figured that I might as well talk to her. "I saved your life you know. Sometimes a lady has to pick up more than a parasol." She smiled curtly at the remark "Well, thank you. My bodyguard is kind of a failure at his job." she said jerking her head at the driver. I looked around quickly "Where's my brother?" I said with my voice a little shaky.
The girl shifted around in her seat "Do you want to know why the shifters attacked us?" I was starting to get upset, "I don't care, where is Reflet?" She started fiddling with her fingers, "They wanted me because I'm going to be coronated in Drachen, and drive beast shifters out of this land." I could feel a pang hit my stomach. "My guess is that they wanted him because he was of royal status, you did know his profession before today?" I rolled my eyes, did all this girl care about was his "job"?
I decided to just stay silent the rest of the trip, silently worrying about Reflet and thinking of all good possible things that happened to him.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to protect you brother, I will help from where I am in any way I can.

I stepped out of the vehicle you the frou-frou girl and followed her up to the castle which was under reconstruction.
"Miss, I was wondering, since I have no place to go can I stay with you and train to be a knight?' The girl wheeled around with a smile, "Of course, it would return the favor from earlier. But I was going to let you anyway! A girl like you with the sense to use a sword could become a great leader." I wiped away a tear as she led me to barracks.
"Mistress Elize!" one of the larger guards called to her. "We have a problem." She placed both hands on her parasol and looked at the guard with a stern face. "The manakete again?" He keeled over gasping for air, "Yes mistress, He's liberated one of the nearby villages."
Elize took a second, "Take this girl to lodestar training, she'll become a large asset against it."
A/N As of now it seems that Fay and Reflet are to be on opposite sides. I will now have to actually start doing research to perfect the next few chapters and to *nearly vomits* do schoolwork. Remember, you can comment for suggestions in the future chapters. See y'all next chapter!
