Chapter 15

Jessica's POV

Where was I? Why was I a robot? I had never seen this place before. Everything was made of metal and- it hit me. I was on Cybertron. It was beautiful. But...Cybertron was dead. That must mean... I gasped. I was dead! This was heaven! But why was I on Cybertron if it was heaven? What happened to the gates, the white clouds, and the streets of gold?

"Hello."

I spun around to see who said it. It was a blue femme. An Autobot. She had a small red rectangle on her forehead.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Chromia."

I gasped. Ironhide's spark mate! She really was beautiful, and I really was dead. "If I'm dead, why am I in Cybertronian heaven?"

She giggled. "I made a special request. Besides, you're not really dead."

"I'm not?"

"No, no quite. Not anymore, anyway. You're fine now. I just needed to talk to you for a few minutes."

"O-oh. Okay. Listen, if this is about Ironhide, I'm not trying to take him or anything. I know he still loves you."

She grinned and waved it off. "Don't worry about it! I've been watching you two and I'm glad he's got a femme to hang around. My question for you is how do you feel about him?"

It didn't take me long to come up with an answer. "I like him."

"More than a friend?" She questioned.

"I don't know. I haven't really thought about it."

"Well, you better start thinkin about it, girlie, because I'm about to lay it on ya." She sat down and pulled me down next to her. "Ironhide loves you with all of his spark. You should have seen the way he was looking at you before I brought you here." She sighed dreamily. "I loved it when he looked at me like that. You'll love it too!" She giggled again then got serious. "If you don't love him back, I'll drag you right back into the land of the dead and kick your aft. He's been moping around too long. He doesn't need a rejection from the one that helped him to finally move on."

I nodded quickly. "I have a question."

Her calming smile reappeared on her lips. "Go ahead."

"Why am I a robot?"

She laughed. "You'll find out when you wake up. Speaking of which, it's time for you to go. Everyone else is already awake. Time moves much faster here when the living you're watching are recharging." I started to fade away. "Tell everyone I said hi and tell Ratchet I'm happy for him." I was almost gone. "And tell that old bucket of bolts Ironhide it took him long enough!"

Blackness.

I heard a beeping similar to that of a heart monitor.

"Her spark beat's quickened. She must be awake," Ratchet announced to someone. "Jessica? Can you hear me? I need you to bring your optics online."

He knew I didn't have optics. I was a hu- waaaaait a minute. This must have been what Chromia was talking about when she said I would find out when I woke up. I must be a robot now. I mentally smiled. Cool!
The only thing I had to do now before I forgot about it was to relay a certain deceased Autobot's messages.
