"Just hear me out!" Aiden screamed for probably the one hundredth  time since I walked onto the campus.

"Its a free country I'll listen to what I want." I said while turing towards my locker.

"Fine, be that way. I guess I'll just have to drag you away."

"Yeah right." Just as I said that Aiden grabbed my arm pulling me towards a nearby janitors closet.

"What the heck Aiden? Let go of me!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"Not until you hear me out." I huffed but let him speak.

"You have 5 minutes. I don't want to miss Theatre."

"You take theatre?" Seriously this again? Why is everything I do so freaking surprising?

"That's it I'm out." I said while escaping from his grasp and turning towards the door.

"No wait. I'm serious, I need to tell you something." I looked down at my watch and sighed, giving up and waiting for him to start.

"5 minutes." I repeated, he noded.

"So we are the party talking when you started drinking beer after beer. I just kinda stared at you not thinking you were that type of party girl but you are full of surprises so I didn't comment. You had 3 beers before going completely insane. Hugging  random people and confessing even stranger things." I shuddered remembering the videos and pictures.

"I could have prevented it. I could have been less annoying and cut you off by your 2nd beer. But I didn't, and that's what broke my heart." That last line caused the hairs on my back to stand up.

"Broke your heart? Yeah right! I don't even KNOW you! We are just doing a stupid project and after that, well that's it. I didn't want to be your partner and I especially don't want your pitty!"

I said breathlessly while staring him straight in the eye. A flash of pain spread on his face but as soon as it came it was replaced by anger.

"You know what?Do whatever the heck you want to. I don't care. But let me tell you this. I've seen things like this happen before, drinking is serious. And it's not something I take lightly. If you never wanted to be my partner then consider this an individual project, finish it on your own."

"Like I wasn't going to do that already?" I yelled, anger pulsing through my veins. "You only picked me because I was going to do the project for you." I impulsively.

"Maybe I just like you! " He blurted out in anger.

"What?" I said in complete shock. Aiden Hartford liked me? My voice came out angry instead of shocked, I must of sounded mad by what he said next.

"Forget it." And with that he walked out of the closet without a second glance.

What the actual heck just happened?

I turned onto F hall (fine arts hallway) and made my way into the classroom. Clearly annoyed and shaken up by the Aiden thing.

"As I was saying our play will be open for anyone at the school to audition, we don't have enough guys for Romeo and Juliet after all." Mrs. Musket said.

Open auditions? Then what was the point in taking this class for over 3 years?

I cursed while grabbing my script and flipping to the audition scences to make sure I was prepared.

~*~

"What are you auditioning for?" Mallory asked me as I waited in lunch line.

"Juilet." I said while training my eyes on the food.

"You'd make a perfect Juliet! You are so pretty! " I smiled at that Mallory was the sweetest.

"Hopefully Mrs.Musket thinks so too."

"When are auditions?"

"Today after school."

"Good luck!"

"Thanks!"

~*~

"Romeo, Romeo, Where art thou Romeo?"

"Next!" Mrs. Musket screamed as Jackie scurried off the stage. That left 3 finalists that could play Juilet. Janet, Sara, and me.

"Haley Williams can you go over scence 17 with...." Her fingers traced over the list before landing on a name.

"Aiden Hartford."

Oh dear God.

What the heck was he doing here?

Aiden emerged from backstage confused.

"Did you call me?"

"Yes, I'd like you to read from Romeo."

"No there must be some mistake, I'm just a painter."

"No mistake, I would like you to try out. "

"Oh..alright." he said before making his way to the stage grabbing Sara's script.

~*~

He was really good. Like a lot better than I thought he'd be.

I was in complete character pretending everything was fine with us, he was doing the same.

Aiden kneeled down next to me. Planting a kiss on my hand.

Awkward.

"O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do.They pray; grant thou, lest faith turn to despair."

I said trying my best not to rip my hand away.Awkwardness flooding my body as I looked into his eyes.

"Well then, saint, let lips do what hands do. I’m praying for you to kiss me. Please grant my prayer so my faith doesn’t turn to despair." My voice slightly shaking.

Wait What? Was I going to have to...kiss him? My first kiss too....oh my gosh what have I gotten myself into?

"Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake." ITS HAPPENING!!!! AHHH HALEY PLEASE DONT MAKE IT MORE AWKWARD THAN IT ALREADY IS.

"Then move not, while my prayer’s effect I take. Then don’t move while I act out my prayer."

Come on Miss Musket just yell scence! Please!!!! I can't kiss a guy who I just yelled at and basically told me he like me.

But it was too late, Aiden had already kissed me.

Honestly it wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be. It was like it was normal and not that 30 students were watching us.

I kind of enjoyed it.

Haley what the heck are you thinking? You can not like Aiden Hartford. It was a no strings attached first kiss.

It doesn't even count as a first kiss.

But he cared about me, my well being and everything.

Haley you were just caught up with his character Romeo not him. You don't like him, I reasoned. Then a loud voice snapped my attention.

"YOU GOT THAT PART, BOTH OF YOU!!" Mrs.Musket yelled.

Aiden and I exchanged glances.
