"Oh uh hey Bryce."
I smiled motioning for him to sit down but by instinct wrapping my arms around my dress. Long arm problems, you just have no place to put them. He smiled, "You look beautiful." I smiled at that while looking around for the waiter or parent volunteer to get the fries I ordered."Who did you come with?" He asked.
"Oh um William."
"Henry? Ah. Well you may not want to hear about what I saw him doing with the blonde over there. "
I sighed at that.
"Don't be sad, I'm here now!" He said arrogantly. I laughed at that punching him lightly on his arm.
"Who'd you come with? "
"Ah.. well I came with..umm..well the girl he was caught making out with."
"Oh... I'm sorry."
"Don't be. I couldn't even remember her name anyways. It looks like our dates always have a thing for each other. " He laughed and so did I.
"It would appear so."
"Fries?" A young lady asked placing them by me when I nodded.
"Thank you."
"Hey Haley, I'm going to run to the bathroom I'll be right back okay?"
"Yeah Okay."
I was going to be fine, what was I worried about? Now I had Bryce to keep me company. Everything was going to be fine.
Bryce came back momentarily and I continued munching on my fries. Until he broke the silence.
"Well since I don't have a date and you don't either would you mind-."
"Sure Bryce, but I'm going to finish eating the fries I ordered first okay?"
He laughed loudly.
"I wouldn't have expected anything less of you."
I munched happily as he talked about how his date and how he didn't like how William treated me and stuff. It was nice of him to try and cheer me up but to be honest I didn't need cheering. I was with the only man I loved.
Fries.
Once I finished eating he motioned for us to go to the dance floor. I nodded throwing away a napkin and walking with him to the gym- dance floor.
Shake it Off came on and we both laughed as we did some funny dance moves. Most couples were mad at the change of music because they had other 'dance moves' they wanted to try but I was relieved. I didn't want to be forced into anything.
Bryce was making small talk and jokes while I laughed and horribly failed at dancing, I was head cheerleader not drill team captain.
After the song was over and I had given it my all I went to sit down, telling Bryce he should stay, but he wouldn't listen and followed me to our seat.
"Well ,Well looky here it looks like both of our dates are walking over here."
I turned to where Bryce was looking, expecting to see William and the no name girl but no. I saw Aiden and Natalie. I made eye contact with Aiden and had to awkwardly turn away as I whispered to Bryce.
"We are in so much trouble."
"Hey Nats!" Bryce said walking over to Natalie smiling and hugging her. She didn't move, not in a cold way but in a 'this dress was way to expensive and too tight for me to move in' way.
"Mind if we join you?" Natalie asked. I glanced at Bryce who was looking at Natalie as he nodded.
"I'll be right back." Aiden said to Natalie before disappearing into the bathroom. He looked good, his tie matched her dress and his tux made him look older, more mature.
