My eyes widened.
"Who?"
"I saw you come home, that guy Romeo dropped you off. I saw him a few time when you were working on a project together but I'm guessing the project is over now. I also remember you inviting him over to go over lines once, Aiden was it?"
"Um yes." I said uncomfortablely playing with my hands and twisting my watch around my hand as if it was a delicate batcelet,a nervous habit I've never been able to break.
"He played Romeo? " I nodded.
"When were you going to tell me? " She asked leaning over the car gear shift and eying my watch."Soon, we just started dating today." Technically I wanted to add. That statement was kind of true.
"Oh okay. What about Jeffrey? " She asked, she was trying not to push too much she could tell I was uncomfortable but she wanted to know.
"I just, I need to tell you the full story." I said, I wanted more than anything to get out if the car, the tiny veichle felt smaller than usual and was making me claustrophobic and sweaty.
"Yes, yes you do." She said stopping the car outside our house.

"And now we are here." I said breathing out and pushing back on the table in relief.
"Honey,I'm so sorry. Why didn't you tell me about the video? " My mom was leaning against the table looking deeply into my eyes and sipping her coffee.
"I just, I don't know." I said breaking eye contact for a second trying to ignore the lump in my throat that was forming quite rapidly.
"Next time something like that happens, tell me. I am your mother after all." she said taking a slug of her coffee and cleaning the lipstick smudge off the glass .
"Of course." I said feeling bad for her. She literally had no idea about anything.
"Okay enough about the past. Tell me more about Aiden, I want to meet him." She said picking up her cup and walking towards the kitchen to rinse it.

"Hey Aiden!" I said overly enthusiasticly but in reply all I heard was a grumpy voice over the other end.
"It's way too earlier for this." He finally said clearly tired and annoyed. I glanced at my bedside alarm clock.
"It's almost nine." I said getting off of a stool and walking towards my kitchen and placing my phone on speaker.
"Exactly, everyone knows that on the weekend it's not morning until at least noon."
"Oh well I'm sorry for waking you sleeping beauty but I have news. " I said drying the bowl I had eaten out of.
"Okay what is it?" He said his tone picking up.
"My mom wants to meet you." I said casually.
"What? When? " he said startled.
"Is today okay?" I asked trying to keep my tone unwavering and neutral unlike his.
There was a pause on the other line.
"You're lucky that I like you, meeting the parents scares me so bad." He said finally ,a sigh of relief washing over me.
"I met your grandparents by surprise! " And it's not like I could meet his parents...
"Fine." He said groaning.
"Okay go on and go back to sleep. I'll see you at 7pm."
"I can't sleep now, you woke me up." He said whinning.
