Chapter 23-

The next day, it's Tuesday.

Mom was frantic around the house, searching for objects that were right in front of her as if she lost a head recently. She's taking another out of town trip -France this time or whatever. She didn't bother packing much more than a few dresses and high heel shoes. Apparently it was a waste. France is suppose to be a good shopping spot. She babbled on her Bluetooth the whole time she packed.

I hurt inside, not as much as i hurt when Dad is leaving, but still its hurt. Was it horrible that I wanted her to stay. I mean I know how this works. Just like I know how it works with Dad. She leaves for about two months at a time, comes back with goody items from her latest adventure, apologizes for being gone so long, stays home for less than a month or so if I'm lucky then she's gone again or busy with work.

I had tears in my eyes as I clutched to her purse when she she was walking out the door.

"Lillian..." she complained. I whined and held on tighter.

Two things were very wrong

1- my head was pounding to hard and begging me to lose this fight and crawl back in bed.

2- my inner spoilt child wasn't ready to have mommy leave again just yet.

Not a good mixture.

I mean, sure she doesn't talk to me, but hey I like seeing her face or whatever. I can't explain it. I just want her around sometimes.

"Lillian let me go." I frown and pout, my unspoken refusal. She sighs. "Would you let go if I gave you shopping money?"

I glare up at her. Is that a bribe? It's not a very good one. "She doesn't like shopping Mrs. Griffin." Georgia reminds her. I nod my agreement, but mom wasn't listening or looking.

"Just take my credit card!" she says. "have a blast." she drops it down and I smoothly catch it in-between my hands. I peak at it first, like it was some bug I caught from out doors. Foreign, useless, and unknown.

"No, just my child." I hear mom mumble.

I see Georgia scowl and lock the door the next time I look. I can hear Mom's voice faintly outside and her car start.

"Don't fret about it Lilly. Your mother-" she was cut off by the sound of the door bell.

That's when Dr.caldwell showed up. I narrowed my eyes at her.

My home. She actually showed up at my home. My domain, my forte. Really? And before breakfast. Bitch.

I hate the idea of spending all day in that stuffy ass office of hers. I groaned and shoved the card into my pocket.

"Good morning Lillian. How are you this morning?" she smiles. The session hadn't even started and already she wanted to force questions on me. I shrugged

"You just missed her mother!" Georgia informed with a kind smile.

"Oh did I? My bad, where is she off too so early?" Caldwell asks. Georgia helped me off the floor and into my sweater.

"Business trip." she answered calmly. Caldwell nodded and grinned,

"business calls, speaking of which, are you ready to go Lillian?" I looked down at myself. Jeans, shirt, sweater. I dressed plainly. I shrugged. How could I be ready for something I didn't want to do?

"I'll take that as your way of saying yes." she reached for my hand and took it with out my permission, causing me to just wiggle free.
