{Alivia's P O V}
Chapter Two:
Sleep welcomed me, it was joy. If I weren't a princess, I would end up sleeping for hours. But sadly the universe didn't agree with my style of sleeping forever, for Gilda would have other ideas about sleeping as well.
"UP! Alivia, today is a very important day! One of the best days of my life!" She crowed to me. I opened my eyes, the sunshine bright and burning my pupils.
"That's right dear, up! I will call for Grace, you are to wear the blue dress with the red flowers today. Oh were is Grace!" Gilda cried out, frantic.
She was always frantic on May 1st thought, after all it was the day Grant and I would see each other at the beginning of every summer...I was enthralled to see him again.
Sarcasm intended. Every year he turned into a prick. Scratch that, he was always one, but he just seemed to become a bigger one each year. Brandin, on the other hand got better at it. He didn't hang around as much, since he was studying to be a Duke, and there were certain events he couldn't attend too, so he would just engross himself in his studies. If you ask me, I was closest to Brandin instead of Grant.
You would think I was marrying Brandin and not Grant. Just his name made me boil. Don't get me wrong, he was attractive, but he was a soul-less empty pot inside.
"There you are Grace!" Gilda cried, as I ate my morning breakfast, which consisted of fruits and water. I wasn't supposed to eat very much in the mornings. 'Makes you fatter than a pig.' According to Gilda.
"Help her into her undergarments and dress, and I say her hair should be in a nice bun today Grace. And don't forget the necklace!" I tried not to laugh at the fact last year Grace was polishing the necklace Grant gave to me when I was a babe, and I didn't get to wear it the day we met at his place.
"Yes madam." Grace said smiling. I finished my food and drank the last of my water, walking towards the bath Gilda had prepared for me.
"Are you excited?" Grace asked me. I looked at her as if she had grown two heads. "I am always thrilled to see the charming prick." I sighed. Maybe now that I was past my awkward teen years, and actually had curves and a chest, he would treat me better. I was seventeen now, and he was twenty. I hope he grown some manners.
I didn't really see him much last year or the year before because as we got older and closer to the contracts end, we were studying how to rule a kingdom.
"Maybe he has changed?" Grace said, smiling. "I pray every night since Christmas." She giggled and handed me my robe and a towel to dry.
"This dress Gilda picked will maybe sway his decision?" I laughed at her waggled eyebrows. "You jest!" She smiled and laughed. "I wish you weren't leaving so soon Grace.." I said solemnly. She smiled and patted my shoulder, continuing to lay out my clothes.
"I will only be gone for a week, and then when I return you can tell me everything about your meeting with Prince Grant." I nodded. "Don't enjoy your honeymoon too much without me." I spoke happily.
Last summer Grace met a kitchen boy, and this spring he proposed and they will wed tomorrow. I was so excited for her. Being my ladies maid for so long I feel as if she was a sister.
"Now, let's get you ready for this meeting, hmm?" Grace said, beginning with my corset and bloomers. I nodded, somewhat nervous for Grant's arrival.
