THE SONG FOR LATER ON IS AT THE TOP
Rodgers POV
Grant and Eugenia sat at one end of the dining room, smiling and greeting the beautiful princesses come to see if maybe, perhaps, Grant would pick them to be the queen. "Oh, isn't this exciting!" Eugenia said to Rodger, smiling even more as Grant shook the hand of the King of Swootscoff.
"Yes, indeed madam." Rodger secretly hated the idea of princesses from all over the place coming to woo the only prince here. Unless they were married, then they didn't really count. But majority of the crowd was unmarried and a woman.
But Rodger noticed how Grant only looked at the door when he greeted the woman, and when the tried to catch a conversation he discarded it like a small fish.
He is waiting for someone. Rodger noticed that by the way he dressed, acted and talked. He knew him well enough to be a father, raising him, teaching him what a king must do, how they must act. He was there when he was searching every blade of grass for Alivia. The Lost Princess she was now know as secretly to the servants.
Her kingdom was in mourning. No one knew what to do. Not only was their king dead, their queen dead, but their princess missing. Her distant cousin Gerald was somewhat helping them out. But from the whispers he heard from Eugenia, King Arthur of Camelot may take the land for his knights and their families.
But according to Grant they should hold on for a little longer, that Alivia was still alive and waiting for them to rescue him. Then again when that Antonio boy came around and Grant went to find her, they came back empty handed, but Grant in a mood far better than his past mood all year.
Maybe he found her....No, that's impossible...She is dead...But maybe.. Rodger shook his head and noticed people began sitting in their dinning seats for the show Eugenia crafted for them.
Rodger just hoped this wasn't like her previous instances with her performances. But Rodger spoke to soon when the candles dimmed and a large light shown on the stairwell that looked up towards the door, with two staircases leading the opposite way.
"Every single Princess on the planet." Four men came into the lights view singing a song which no doubt would be cliché.
"Prayed to be invited to the ball." "Every Portia, Guinevere and Janice! Would come by coach or boat to be here, Most would swim the moat to be here, Just to be at this historic gala!"
The light broadened on the four men, and a dozen or so princesses dressed in the shiniest dresses he had ever seen, their shoes, gloves, skirts, tiaras even were so shiny he almost went blind. They were sitting on the stairwell swaying to the song a fake smile upon their faces.
"Girls would walk around, or even crawl! Rumor is that at this joyous scene tonight, the Prince will likely choose his future Queen tonight!" The four men faded away, and lo and behold Douglas sat there in his usually unappealing attire, with his short legs and fat beer belly, and his stupid feathered hat, he grabbed the men and jerked them away ready to sing out his heart.
"Beauty and glamour and breeding unmatched! Princesses on parade!" "Lovely, enthralling and all unattached! Princess on parade!"
{Skip to the song above, cuz I know ya'll don't want to read a chapter about the song, and keep in mind I changed Derek and Odette's names to Grant and Alivia XD}
