Alivia's POV

The sun, the beautiful sun. Normally I would hate the sun, for it took away my right to remain human, it took my human form away from me and forced me into the swan I was forced to be. But I had never been more grateful to see the large, beaming ray of yellow in my eyes.

I welcomed the sting that came with becoming a swan. The wind in my hair became one in my feathers, my fingers slowly changing into long white feathers, my feet, shrinking into the webbed feet I would poses. My neck grew larger, and my head smaller, and before I knew it, my body was a swan.

I extended my wings and felt the wind stop, instead of plummeting into the freezing cold lake below, I skimmed the water with the white wings.

Take that Rupert.

I spoke inside my head, but I wasn't able to enjoy the feeling for very long for I heard The Great Animal cry out its bird like sound.

You better fly fast Alivia, for here comes the beast!

My heart beat faster than before, he wanted to play a game with me. I flapped my wings as fast as they could go, hoping that God would grant me speed so that I could fly towards the one place I knew I could run from.

Alivia!

I turned my eyes to see a flock of swans flying towards me.

What are you doing!? Fly, get out of here!

I cried out to them, but instead I noticed they began surrounding me. They were protecting me.

What...

No Alivia, we are going to help you escape, go, find your Prince. Keep flying right, when you reach the waterfall fly straight into it, inside is a cave only a swan could fit into, fly through it, and it will take you right over the forest that will take you to your Prince! Go!!

I saw the waterfall, it was so close. So close to Grant. I was almost there. My adrenaline was surging through my body, my heart bursting through my whole body, I was afraid, but I wouldn't let fear cloud my mind now.

The waterfall was only a few feet from me, and instead of the swans following me, I saw them fly away. Then a loud squealing noise came from behind. They were attacking Rupert. They were sacrificing themselves for me. All so I could find Grant.

Thank you...

I whispered to them, whether they heard or not, I would never know. But then my thoughts were gone as I felt the water from the waterfall fall around my body. I had done it! I had done it!

I flew through the cave, slower than I had done, giving my body the chance to rest. I was so excited, what will Grant do when he sees me? Will he be relieved? Will he hug me and comfort me?

Or will he turn me away...What if he's found a new women...forgotten me....married.....sold my kingdom to my twice removed, cousin in diapers..?

Then I saw a small light emerge from farther in the cave. No going back now....I was here, I was ready, and I was never going back.
