The world around me stood still. I stood up from the bed starting to pace around the room.

"What happened? Is he alright?" I ran my hand across my face while the lady explained what happened.

"He was in a car accident and has been in surgery. I can't tell you how severe the injuries are but-"

"Will he make it? Will he wake up?" I felt tears in my eyes and my voice was shaky. Stiles sensed that something was wrong and stood up as well. He walked towards me and looked at me concerned. I kept on pacing until he got a hold of my arms and stopped me. I looked at him while the woman on the other end kept talking.

"We are certain that he will. There is a slight chance of him falling into a coma but it's not likely."

"Okay I'll be there as soon as I can." With that I hung up the phone without waiting for an answer. "I have to go. I have to get to Salt Lake City. My dad...Oh shit..." I realized that I had no way of getting to Salt Lake City now. My mom was gone for the weekend and I don't have my own car. "Shit.Shit.Shit."

"Claire, Claire what's happening?" Stiles shook me lightly while I kept on babbling.

"My dad was in an accident and he's in surgery right now. I need to go there, like right now. But I don't have a car and ..." When I said it out loud it was like just then I realized what really happened and I started to cry. Stiles wrapped his arms around me tighly, holding me.

"Sssh. Okay, how's this; I'll drive you to see your dad okay?" He mumbled into my hair while my head was buried in his chest.

"Stiles, that's ridiculous. have you forgotten the part that it's in Salt Lake City?" I was clutching onto Stiles shirt while he was stroking my head slowly.

"Doesn't matter I'll drive you. C'mon. I'll quickly let my dad know, here are my keys you can wait in the Jeep." He handed me his keys and grabbed his phone from the desk dialling his dad's number. I stood there flabbergasted for a second before making my way downstairs to the Jeep. Stiles was going to drive me all the way to Salt Lake City? Why would he do this? It's an at least seven hours drive. I got into Stiles' baby blue jeep and sat down in the passenger seat. I was still slightly shaking when Stiles got into the drivers side throwing a bag into the back.

"Let's go. Try to get some sleep. I know it's hard but just try okay?" He squeezed my hand I nodded trying to smile. It didn't work. Tears were just threatening to fall again so I lay my head against the window as Stiles reversed the Jeep out of the driveway.

I managed to get some sleep. It wasn't much but I was wide awake now. We were currently on the Interstate somewhere in Nevada. We had been driving for three hours now and Stiles started to get tired. He pulled up to a gas station and I got out of the car.

"I'll go use the bathroom." I said and Stiles nodded. I entered the little shop and looked for the bathroom. It wasn't the cleanest but I didn't care. When I came back outside Stiles was already sitting behind the wheel again. His head was rested against the window. He could really use some sleep. I won't be letting him drive in this state. When I knocked against his window he jolted up surprised about to start the car. I opened the door before he could turn the key.

"Stiles, you're tired. Get some sleep, I'll drive."

"Are you sure? I mean with everything going on..."

"Yes. Stiles you're about to fall asleep. I won't let you drive like this. You'll get us into an accident as well." Stiles just nodded in response and walked around the car getting in the passenger side. I hopped behind the wheel starting the car when Stiles had buckled himself up. We weren't on the road for long when I heard soft snores coming from my right side.

Another four hours later we were about to enter Salt Lake City. We had swapped positions again two hours ago. I was staring out of the window watching as the landscape flew by. I was clutching my phone which had been silent for the past hours. Was it a good sign that the hospital didn't call again? I  felt Stiles hand on mine and turned my head towards him. His fingers intertwined with mine and he gave me a reassuring smile.

"Everything's going to be alright." He whispered and I nodded. Stiles focused on the road again but his hand never left mine.

We entered the hospital in a hurry. Stiles had the bag he brought around his shoulder and I was pulling him behind me by his hand.

"I'm looking for Robert Martin." I told the receptionist and she tapped away on her keyboard.

"Room 213." She said without looking up.

"Thanks." With that I pulled Stiles towards the elevator. I pressed the button for the second floor and my nerves started to kick in again. My hands started sweating and I hoped Stiles wouldn't feel it. But he probably wouldn't care. The elevator opened it's doors and we stepped outside looking for room 213. It was a bit down the corridor and when I stood infront of the door I got even more nervous. Stiles  hugged me again.

"You can do this." He whispered and kissed my head. I was glad he drove me. I was glad he was here giving me strength. I nodded straightening my posture. I can do this. Stiles gave me one last rub on the back before letting go of me and sitting down on a chair infront of the room.
