The club was located inside of an older building, with high arches ceilings and a grand staircase that led to the second floor of the club, what I assumed was the VIP section. It was lit with lavender lighting, the only lighting in the otherwise dark building besides the disco ball that spun. The club was packed with what looked to all be humans but I now knew better. I trailed behind Aden as she pushed past the crowds of people. A few people, tall and pale, who i immediately identified as vampires, eyed the two of us as we passed through. Aden paid no attention to these people, but I made sure to keep my eye on the ones who watched us. If there was anything I knew about situations like these, it was always to pay attention to small details.
"Are we meeting him?" I asked her, keeping my voice low And knowing that she could hear me despite the noise. Aden looked back at me over her shoulder and nodded as we approached the staircase that led to the VIP section. A very giant, bald man stood at the bottom of the staircase as if to block entry. Aden paid him no attention, shooting him a look that caused him to immediately move out of her way. I didnt question a thing, following after her.
I stepped to the beat of the music, feeling it pulse through me as I blindly followed the Raven haired girl. She smiled nervously, and I followed her line of eye sight to see a handsome boy across the room, who couldn't have been any older than me. He had sunken cheek, giving him a dark look, and slicked back pale blonde hair. His eyes were chocolate brown and immediately lit up when he saw Aden. His eyes scanned the room, before nodding his head in a specific direction as if to tell her to meet him privately.
"I'll be right back." She whispered into my ear before taking off in the direction of who I could only assume was Caine. I immediately knew that she wouldn't be 'right back' so I made my way to the bar.
The bartender was no older than 25, with an A tattooed on his wrist, immediately causing me to assume he was with the Ambrogio. I sat down at the bar, a seat away from a blonde man who looked very similar to Caine, leaving me to assume that he was also an Ambrogio and that the club was packed with their coven for the night. The blonde man looked up at me as I sat, raising an eyebrow in curiosity and probably wondering why he had never seen me before. I kept forgetting that people in small towns all knew each other.
"What will it be?" The bartender questioned, not giving a damn that I looked nowhere near 21.
"Amaretto Sour." I spoke, deciding to go with something sweet and weak. He nodded at me turning to make my drink.
"Put her on my tab." The blonde Ambrogio man spoke, his eyes still on me.
"Yes Mr Ambrogio."
He smirked when he met my eyes, before finally speaking "a pleasure to finally meet the new witch everyone has been going on about, Valencia I presume?"
"Wow I had no idea I was gossip around here already." I accepted the drink the bartender handed me, devoting my attention to the amber liquid.
"You are an unclaimed witch, from a powerful bloodline, of course your presence would not go unnoticed." Mr Ambrogio spoke in a way that reminded me of Elijah from The Originals. He spoke properly and prideful, with obvious thought put into every word. A very dangerous type of person to have a conversation with.
"I plan to remain unclaimed." I replied. It was true, I did not want any part in the weird supernatural politics that seemed to surround this town. I just wanted to live a normal life.
"I promise you that sooner or later, you'll need to choose a side. Just make sure you choose the right one." He pulled out his business card, handing it to me. "I believe the young Baldassarre is searching for you."
I turned around, spotting Aden. "Yes, it seems so. I must be going then, It was nice to meet you Mr Ambrogio, thanks for the drink."
"The pleasure is all mine." He smirked. "When you're ready to join the Ambrogio, you know where to find me."
I stood up, quickly retreating in the direction of Aden. She let out a sigh of relief when she spotted me. We turned to quickly leave the club, not stopping to speak until we were safe inside my car.
"Oh, V. What do I do?" She leaned back into the seat. "I want to be with him."
"I don't get it, wouldn't it be a good thing if you were both together? Since fate chose you guys to be together maybe it's a sign that someone out there in the universe wants to unite the Ambrogio and the Baldassarre." I suggested.
"Yeah, but my brother and Dante Ambrogio despise eachother. The leaders of the coven would never let it happen. They hate eachother more than they care about our happiness."
"Dante is the leader of the Ambrogio?"
Her face filled with confusion. "You know Dante?"
"I just met him at the bar, he gave me his business card." I handed her the card I had slipped into my bra. "He was trying to convince me to join them."
"What did you say?"
"That I'm not joining either. I just want to live a normal life." A sigh left my lips as I started the car.
"Val, fate has already decided for you. You were meant to be a Baldassarre."
"No, I won't be bothered with either. It just doesn't seem right." I pulled onto the main road as we spoke, heading in the direction of the Baldassarre manor.
"I get what you're saying. If I wasn't born a Baldassarre then I wouldn't stick around in this town." We finally pulled up to the mansion and Aden quickly hopped out. "Alex knows I left, hurry up and get out of here before he catches you too."
With that I took off for the cottage, my mind wandering to everything that had happened that night. What had I gotten myself into by moving to Ivywood? I felt the strong need to just leave the town and never look back but at the same time something pulled at me, telling me I needed to stay; this was where I belonged.
